Speaking of $$$, i have it on very,very good authority that elmore coach tony southcombe recieved $22,000 to coach the bloods in 2007...
a lot of clubs wouldnt spend that on all their players let alone one coach.
now im assuming i will get some stupid response from bloodhound and others alike who will jump in to deny this statement even though they have no idea... but as i said, very,very good authority forum frollickers...
i suppose it bought,hm,i mean won them a premiership though.
No wonder they had to dip into the Footy trip fund to pay the players out there

hopefully for white hills sake they dont. been looking on the lvfl thread and see they have named there inter league side. this is for all hdfl followers name the best side for us from last year.

Confirmed today that Adam Campbell has committed to Mitiamo (pen to paper), Steven Clohesy is close and the old bloke Saunders is going along for a run as well, would have thought the Hawks losing the first two would be a huge blow, from what I. have heard both are handy.

I can assure you guys that southcombe did not get paid a cent last year and may have been given an incentive this year!! Not bad for a flag winning coach..

$30k????? Can assure you they weren't. Well managed clubs such as Colbinabbin & Mt Pleasant would not blow that amount of coin on a playing coach. As good as those 2 you have mentioned are. If Southcombe got $22k then good luck to him. If the reported amount of $22k is right be interesting to see what available funds there will be going forward???
If bluey was getting that sort of money i dont think he would be working at the saleyards and working a heap of hours at the jockey club....as well as sitting on "The Bridge" which he is looking to sell.....absolute crap fellas.....Santoz, my thoughts exactly!!
He might not have got paid that amount but he would have got paid something, otherwise why would you go to a club that hasn't won a flag for 21 years????

Because he gets enjoyment out of coaching.
Because he gets enjoyment out of winning premierships with teams that haven't won flags for years.
He did a power of work organising sponsorship money for the club as well. Whatever he was getting paid by the club (if he was at all) would have appropriate compensation for the hours of work he put in, not only coaching, but behind the scenes as well.

well that wouldnt be a bad thing for huntly to see the back of campbell , over rated . he should fit in well up there at miti .
what i was trying to say was, why would he go to a club in their position with out a bit of an incentive, eg a bit of cash, over the years most of the sides he has coached have had plenty of cash to get quality footballers. A smart coach would be on as little as possible so he had more to offer new players..

Sad to see Peewee go great bloke.. Having said that those two boys didn't play for nothing... Free up a bit of coin for some fresh faces...
We've gotta get them 'fresh faces' first - hearing plenty of people leaving and not too many new signatures!! & the rumours around town are that they are offering HUGE money ($500+) for average players from up north way and still not getting any bites - not sure where the new faces will come from if that is the case.......??
