Heard tonight that Damien Webb has told north that he will be playing there next season. I don't know if he is Ass. Coach or a player but has agreed to play at north.

When comparing leagues where does the heathcote & dfl come in, obviously not as strong as the Bendigo fl but not your typical bush (minor) comp....

Very similar to the Tallangatta DFL up and around Albury/Wodonga. Maybe even a touch better/quicker. Probably more depth in the top teams. The worst teams in the Tallangatta league aren't quite so bad though. Would be as good as the Hume league which is a good/very good standard of district footy from what i could tell having only ever played one club from there in a practice match.

not to sound to bias, but i reckon the best players from this comp would be very handy against many of the other leagues best, even some major leagues such as north central etc. there are many players in this league which could and should be playing major league, and playing well. but its good they arent i spose.

According to the Mildura boys Elmore, Colbo and Mounts wouldn't be out of place in the Sunraysia league which is a high standard league according to them. From what i can gather it appears to have some quality footballers running around it.....Any thoughts from someone in the know about the SFL....

Interesting choice if its true. Kahl would only be 23 or 24, making him a young coach to take over the reins at the Cattery. Also was very good in the GVFL this year, think he polled very well in the Rochy B&F even with injuries. I would think he will do what most of the players at Rochy wil be doing, waiting to see who is coaching and decide from there. Maybe wrong, and OTM usually has the inside story. I don't know where OTM gets the time, he's busier than a one legged Riverdancer!

Heard Oliver has already signed with Rochester again, so I don't think this has any legs

Elmore would give most sides a push in the SFL. Wouldn't beat the top 3 teams. Would maybe pinch a win against the next couple and would probably finish around 5th or 6th. Would have fought out wins against the bottom 3 sides in the comp.

If Colbo played there (minus Elmore) they would finish around 6th or 7th.

Mounts would finish somewhere in the bottom 3.

RT-ZS, where are the Heathcote boys off to this year? Early predictions for BOFT?

BOFT will be a four horse race between Heathcote stalwarts Tobin & Jacques while the Melbourne connection of L. Carroll and Wylie Coyote will also feature. Can't wait to get in that sl*t infested beer garden.....

Heard a whisper the HDFL picked up a couple of awards at the VCFL awards doo on the weekend. I believe the Yabba took out the best program and Trevor Arnel won a best administrator title in one of the categories.

Thats a fantastic effort by the HDFL to have the best administrator and the ''Yabba'' winning the best program of the year.

Heard that colbo had their Presentation day today and that coach Damien Lock won the best & fairest. Is no certainty to continue as coach though at this stage.

hmmm i wonder where you heard that?? geez you are lightning quick on providing the goss for bigfooty! lol

Yeah it was great to see the Yabba win the district league record of the year & HDFL secretary win too. From memory, I'm pretty sure the HDFL were the only ones from the bendigo area to win or even be nominated for anything. But don't quote me coz my memories of the night aren't that clear!!

Yeah, whisper has it Lock has put an application in for a coaching job in the Sunraysia league. HJ32 can you elaborate further on this. This one comes directly from the club sussing out if he would be suitable.

A sunraysia club was floating around Sat night asking qns about Lock. Maybe it wasn't Merbein, a few drinks may have blurred the specific details.

Yeah i have suffered from the same memory issues at times :D I would be interested to find out who is chasing him up that way as i know a lot of blokes who play/coach up in that league

You’ve got your finger in every ones pie. Has Huntly signed on an assistant coach yet heard they were chasing a pretty decorated young fella, who’s tasted premiership success the last three years, with Hammo as coach an word of a few new faces could be the start of the hawks climb back into the competitive ring.

Seems we're all getting asked questions about Locky  Good luck to him wherever he ends up, was great to me each time we came across each other this year, and if he moves on from Colbo I doubt they could question his service :thumbsu:

Would Macka McKern go with him?
