With Joey now precariously placed with his carry over points it may be worthwhile the club engineering a situation where he gets suspended somewhere during the remainder of the home and away season and misses a soft game rather than going into the finals with the sword of Damacles hanging over his head.
This sort of thing often happens in the World Cup where players try to deliberately get a yellow card to add to a carry over yellow to get suspended for a dead rubber and starting with a clean sheet in the next stage of the tournament.
To get deliberately rubbed out for 1 week would be quite a tricky proposition. Go too hard and he might get two or more weeks. Go too soft and he may get off with a fine or no report at all.
So to help Joey out here are some suggestions that don't involve actually belting anyone. Feel free to add others.

1. Tripping. He already has the technique worked out and as long as you don't break someone's leg is usually only worth a week.
2. Abuse. Would have to be pretty colourful in order to get more than just a fine. Could ask Simon Black what he said and then go worse.
3. Umpire contact. Again would have to be more than negligent and negligible. But go too hard (hmmm...tempting ) and you get multiple weeks.
4. Bringing the game into disrepute. Could flip the bird to the opposition cheer squad, worth a week? or make an inappropriate gesture, eg Goddard's shackles?

Any suggestions?

Could just lighten his wallet by $5,000 :p

Aside from the tripping habit, he absorbs alot of heavy "tagging" (and some sniping) without giving it back - so he should be right.

smart thing would have been to take the 1 week and miss the cats game.

now he might end up missing a week and still have 50-60 points leftover... stupid system should work in round numbers

agrred tho he should take someone out next friday and miss the dees game. just do a buddy and give em a soft hit over the head

but dont fogret he will have a "bad record" so might miss 2.

Brownlow hopes?

Personally, I'd just hope he stays out of trouble.

However, when do we play Collingwood again? If he's no Brownlow hope, we could tell him to give O'Brien's hair a tug. Make it look like he tripped, and say it was 'unintentional'? Would be a low act, but it wouldn't be too harshly looked down upon here, would it?

I mean, it is Harry O'Brien...

Not Harry, he's OK. Your first idea was the best... hope he just stays out of trouble.
