Cheers mate. And take out last years draftees cos they're just in the system, most of those guys have played at least one game of AFL.

this will be exciting i will be there no matter what, i seriously cannot pick a winner, i was really impressed by ek last week playing as a team, they have risen to the challange, but doing it on the MCG is another thing i can see a few heroes in that team and that could the mole that ruins there chance, it honestly will be what team comes out to play for EKC, either really stupid and selfish or very skillful classy and unselfish, its a 50% 50% chance for them, i hope mckernan comes to play and does what is required of him aas a big man and thats to take strong marks in front and feed the little fellas down forward, if he does that i think he could be the game breaker because the goals will come automatically for him if he does everything right

The good thing about assumption is they are all mates that play together every week, i wouldn't put EKC as the favourites because they are unpredictable, assumption have to be favourites because i don't remember individuals winning a flag.

in the end i think it will be a crackerjack game

I hope you dont have to pay to get in :D

Could there be a bigger crowd there than the demons vs eagles game?
yeah u do have to pay to get in but everyone get there wil be one of the most entertaining of school games and of the best qauilty u will ever see!!
im on the ekc bandwagon though 11 days!!!

things look better for assumption, cannons and western had a very tough game against eachother we will see how they get through the week but there will be some sore bodies.

plus for assumption is daniel talia played a very good role at half forward for the cannons and got named best on gorund so look out things might be falling into assumptions hands

assumption wouldnt be favourite for this game ekc have many players who are spose to be guns an if they all fire will win that is if they play team footy an not selfishly which wat they can be known for. assumption plays with spirit an mateship its wat has made there team so good this year with the guns firing collis sheahan garvey hawke an holman running off half back the country boys will be hard to beat. if gestier fires up forward it will be a tough day at the office for ekc. also if collis can keep pushing forward and kicking goals like he has been every week ack could run over the top in what should be a game which will be remembered by all MCG saturday the 16th i tink the time is 11.00 be there for some special stuff !!!!

i agree with you totally, but if shaun mckernan wants to play no one will stop him, and if shcroder, banner white duhau and carroll are on im sorry but assumption can't win because if they come to play for eachother and use there team mates and all that is required to win a grandfinal EKC can not lose they have way to much class for that, im on the EKC banwaggon i just hope they bring the right attitude with them cos if they do good luck assumption because EKC will be tough and ruthless

What time do you think the game will finish if it starts at 11?
Fixed 20 minute quarters (no time on) I believe.

The school game at the MCG a couple of weeks ago (the VSSSA/MCC Shield) finished just before 1pm. Hopefully the farcical situation that day where players and umpires stood in position for three minutes after 1/4 and 3/4 time waiting for the siren to sound. I think the schools thought they had 5 mins for qtr time and hurried their addresses, but the timekeeper thought they had 8 mins and wouldnt budge on sounding the siren!

no scholarships given out but they have their own football program which helps there footy but from my understanding they don't normally over play tac cup players in this competition

Apparently you can bet on this game with Sportsbet?? Essendon-Keilor $1.22, Assumption $4.

Very interesting, it's hard to know given Essendon-Keilor play so little football together, but have a heap of talent.
I saw that, I cant belive they're betting on school footy! What next, betting on Auskick at half time?

Assumption at $4 seems alright odds too

I got the mail, the injuries are hitting EKC, i hope they can stand up to it, i wanna see a good display by them

I heard ACK won by a goal after being 40 points down at half time.

Yeah ACK come running home in the last half after playing crap in the first half. Really showed what they are made from in the bush. The likes of Collis, Pestia, Vale, Garvey-Hawke and the Talia brothers really stepped the tempo up. With Giester not firing all cylinders in the 1st half at fullforward. He showed the crowd how good he really is in front of goal putting them in front.
WELL DONE ACK.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Assumption were 26 points down at half-time, not 40, but it was 15 shots to 4 and Essendon-Keilor looked easy winners at that stage.

As I suspected, Assumption worked better as a team, and to be brutally honest EKC choked - ended up kicking 6.18 and wasting some periods of total dominance.

Great stuff Consumption College.

Heavy underdogs but with Ray Carroll coaching, the boys spirit would've been akin to having Tommy Hafey giving them a fire up.

I've seen a lot of Spocky's speaches and boy, do they stir you up and I could just imagine, in his 51st year at Assumption, giving it to the boys at half time about "the Danihers, the Brownlesses, the Crawfords, the O'Donnells, the Serafini's, the Keenan's" who'd all be watching or looking at the results.

He sure knows how to get the best out of someone even though we all have a laugh at his techniques but he's a genuine, honest great man and he does his job like no other.

Well done ACK indeed. :thumbsu:
