My Kosi problem outlined on another thread, but I thought I'd include it here since this is where quality discussion happens...

I've got him in the forward line. With the small amount I have in the bank I can afford to spend $483,200 to replace him.

I already have Tippett, Rioli and Gamble and don't want to replace him with Hill, because I'm just creating further trades for myself in the future. Also have Hall and Porplyzia.

Problem is I simply can't find anybody worth buying in this price range that is a keeper for the rest of the season. Somebody worthy of a spot in Round 22 when a Grand Final is on the line.

Thoughts???

C.Jones will be at a bargain price in a couple of weeks.

or
Rouighead vs Carlton (rd22)
or
Corey Jones

Yuck, that's quite the predicament you're in there...

um... I dunno, I certainly understand wanting to stem the hemorage that is Kosi... however, if you can't find a "keeper" to replace him with, it's gunna have to be hill... :)

Makes sense, but I just can't get comfortable enough with any of them to pull the trigger.

If in doubt, don't...

I suspect I'll just buckle up for the the rough ride with Kosi and hope he improves. If he doesn't, then I'm resigned to the fact I need to double-trade to upgrade him.

By replacing him with Hill, I need to make at least 1, maybe 2 trades to upgrade Hill later.

By waiting and potentially taking a value hit, I'm also potentially avoiding making a trade altogether (or making a direct swap for somebody else when values favourably align). Worst case is it takes 2 trades to replace him. Upgrading Hill later might take also take another 2 (3 in total). But that said, its hard not to be short-sighted because it hurts seeing players slip into the red.

Ok Guys I know most say no sideways trades but I have a little bit of interesting situation which most will have with rookie backs struggling to get a game.

Have S D Thompson, Pfeiffer and Proud all in the one side all having played one game. Pfeiffer has been mentioed that he prob wont play this week, thompson looks in same boat and doubt proud will get a game after last weeks performance.

Now this is a different sideways trade where I could possibly get rid of someone like akermanis up forward to a bock/thornton down back who will not only prob score more then akka over season but atleast i be guaranteed to get a score up back each week instead of worrying about if 1 of these 3 are going to get a game or not.

So Options

1. Stick them out hope one gets a game

2. Sideways trade for another rookie (dont think so as is there any rookies out there that consistenly will get a game, some will say N Brown? Really jsut dont think the rookie class anything like the forwards at the moment.)

3. Trade out one these Rookies with Akka for Hill up forward and Bock/Thornton down back

4. Trade out one these Rookies with S Johnson for Hill up forward and Sam Fisher down back

4. Trade out one these Rookies with Stanton for Tuck in Middle and Sam Fisher down back

Ok any advice on any these situations be great or any different options when stuck with these 3 at moment.

Current Team

Backs: Cornes, Bowden, Newman, Johncock, Mattner, Bradshaw, Thompson, (Proud, Pfeiffer)

Mids: Dal Santo, Cross, Stanton, Griffen, Stevens, Houli, (Palmer, Bird)

Rucks: Cox, Simmonds (Kruezer, Meesen)

Forwards: Pavlich, S Johnson, Franklin, Hall, Akermanis, Porplyzia, Rioli, (Gamble, Tippet)

Couple of players in there that havent played to there value so far in Bowden, Stanton, Stevie J and Akka but im quite content that they will all turn that around but thinking might be forced into trading one in this situation?

Slightly off topic but i didnt want to start a new thread, does anyone know what the highest individual player score in SC is?
I think someone got 227 but im not sure.

That was Drummond last year.

I'm pretty sure that Richoman scored something like 260 a few years back. He took about 10 contested marks or something crazy by memory

seeing that you went to so much trouble i feel compelled to try to help you out. i see your problem and although trades are like gold this early in season if i was coaching your side i would make the 2 this week. I would trade aker out for hill making you $284,300. Aker was very good in rd 1 against adelaide yet only scored 70 and was servicable in rd 2 for just 57. His big scoring days are past him and this is overpriced and will drop considerably in coin after this week. I would then trade Thomson out for your choice of a good defender. The reason thomson is because Proud is highly regarded and despite whether he plays or not this week he will be given every opportunity this year. Pfeiffer was ok on weekend and should get games. Thomson was not up to this standard in rd 1 and wont get many more chances. Depending on what cash you have in the ban already cou could get Thornton, Osborne, Bock, Roughead, B Jones, McPharlane etc Of those my choice would be McPharlane. Hope i helped...

Wait until the teams are announced mate. You've got a lot of cash cows there, you don't *need* an extra one... And if one of those backs plays, you won't have the 0... :D

Johnson for Hill AND
FISHER for Proud

Proud put in a lot of effort for very little last week, the ball was on the ground a lot and he should've scored more than 20SC points.

I'm trading Lucas for Hill and
Proud for possibly Thornton.

Then I'll upgrade one of my defenders to S Fisher later on, I can afford it now, but will ride Thornton for some cash.

My team's coming 22nd on the SC site. Plus, if any of those 3 defenders have a blinda in their next game, they've only played two, so you could potentially get back on them to cash in.

So you're using effectively 3 trades on the one player (Proud to Thornton to Fisher) so make some extra cash? Interesting theory.

Not sure if I will trade Thorton for Fisher, but think Thornton for Proud will be effective.

I have:
Mattner, Cornes, Guerra, Waters, Brett jones, Bock, S Thompson, Proud and J Edwards.

So after Thornton for Proud I can upgrade someone, cos I want Fisher.

I'm trading Lucas for Hill this week, which will give me $430k, I already have $77k, so even with thornton for proud, ill easily be able to upgrade a player to fisher later.

So that'll be 2 trades in defence, one to get rid of Proud, 1 to pick up fisher. Could go straight to fisher, but it's whether i want to make some cash or save a trade....???????

WOW, you would want him as captain !!!
i had brown as captain that week, but coz i was in my first year i had no idea what i was doing and only ended up scoring about 2200 for the week, thanks to the 532 from browny

Should i start Travis Tuck? The only problem is ill have to sub one of Cross, Corey, Deledio, Fletcher, Griffen or Stevens.

I'd leave him on bench for one more week.
I've got Dal Santo, Ablett, Cross, Ling, Stevens, Houli and will leave Tuck and Bird on bench I think.

Although, am tempted to put Tuck on for Houli, but not Stevens.

Is King worth the extra 100,000 than Osbourne? I'm upgradig my backline and i'm thinking either King, Osbourne, Kennelly or Bassett for Matt Maguire

Osbourne may get a few less points when other hawks come back, like Crawford, Brown, although Dew out.

But I think King will keep picking up big scores...he's a speed demon! King's value will go up by 66k this week if his form continues with his avg of 106.
