dicleo.....ur a tru dic!

so...cox cpatain material u all say? its tough this week unless u hav ablett or bartel(i dont:()

maybe fev?!? after all my contemplation of giving him the boot, lol. wuld be a laugh

seeing that you went to so much trouble i feel compelled to try to help you out. i see your problem and although trades are like gold this early in season if i was coaching your side i would make the 2 this week. I would trade aker out for hill making you $284,300. Aker was very good in rd 1 against adelaide yet only scored 70 and was servicable in rd 2 for just 57. His big scoring days are past him and this is overpriced and will drop considerably in coin after this week. I would then trade Thomson out for your choice of a good defender. The reason thomson is because Proud is highly regarded and despite whether he plays or not this week he will be given every opportunity this year. Pfeiffer was ok on weekend and should get games. Thomson was not up to this standard in rd 1 and wont get many more chances. Depending on what cash you have in the ban already cou could get Thornton, Osborne, Bock, Roughead, B Jones, McPharlane etc Of those my choice would be McPharlane. Hope i helped...

Thanks heaps for the reply!

Just wondering if you would still make this trade if one of those 3 do play this week with the reason being they still might not get a consistent game every week as dont want to play a man down now!

And the idea instead of Akka out would be Stevie J and get someone really solid up back like Sam Fisher, otherwise will be Bock for Akka

Well there is a 1% chance I will trade in Ablett this week. If I do he will get the nod as Captain.

However I probably won't so for me it will be Cox. Traditionally he hasn't set the world on fire against Freo but his current form is too hot to ignore.

ok, for any1 who may know....how do i earn the respect of bigfooty member? or anything rather then bigfooty newbie....i hav posted many times 100+ since febuary i wuld say.

Yeah, he put up bad scores against them last year (a 60 something and a 100), but his form really is too hot at the moment... and with no Geelong... he's prolly the safest bet.

Help me feel better about myself people.
I began the week determined to trade Hurn and Stanton- either for a cheap backman and Gazza jnr or two $450K players.

After much reading and research and soul-searching, I then concluded that Stants deserves another chance or two.

So now I worry about what to do with Hurn- trade him alone? There's not a lot in my price range for a straight swap, nor even for downwards plus cash, but he hasn't been doing so great.

More research- he started 2007 even worse than he has this season, then in rnd 3, he scored 105, and then 76, 62, 70 in the next three after that. And rnd 3 last year? The western derby.

See my problem is now I don't really think I have anyone else worth trading yet- they're either doing fine, are proper guns, or are cash cows.

I feel like a junkie in need of a fix- the thrill of the trade is sooo tempting, but honestly, unless my hand is forced by awful team selections tonight, I'd be stupid to do it.

Am I the only one in this predicament? Tell me I'm doing the right thing?

Please?

It sounds like you're doing the right thing. :)

Backs are stupid, and if hurn is your only underperformer, then make it a priority to upgrade him come cash-cow time. :D

I can't really see hurn dropping enough to hurt you in that time. :)

Cheers- I wouldn't say he's my only underperformer, but the only one worth thinking about moving at the moment from a financial perspective.
They are: ChadC, HShaw, Gilbee, Bradshaw, Hurn, Barlow, Proud, Pfeiffer ans S Thompson benched.
You see what I mean about tonight's selections being a risk.

The only other thought I had would be to shift Barlow out, but it would effectively be a sideways trade to Ellis or Jaymie Graham or Nicoski. Not that enticing, you'll agree.

posts on the dt/sc forums dont count i think.....

Spot on there, posts on the Dt/SC forums don't count to your post count(Although I don't know why:confused:)
So in saying that it will change to "Bigfooty Member" when you have more than 25 posts on the main/club boards;)

do u guys reckon cyril rioli can hold his spot in the hawk side with all the blokes they have to come back? cos im considering trading aker/hawkins/n thompson for someone at a bargain price (maybe lachie hanson?), pocketing the money to upgrade someone else and starting cyril rioli on the ground every week.....

good move or not??

I think that RIOLI will hold his spot. It appears that Hawthorn are going to use him as a crumbing fwd and the players to come back are more on ballers.
