I'm in the same boat as some other guy was with Hurn. Not living up to an expectations, and is going to drop significantly in price. I am aware that he scored well last season in Round 3 against Freo, but he also scored 44 against them later in the season.

The question keep him an hope for a big week, or trade him for someone else, I'm liking Hunt. He's consistent, capable of big scores, even when Geelong dominate..got 110 against Essendon last week and is affordable at this time. Plus he looks like he getting back to old form of averaging high 90's, and possible even higher.

I've got Chad, Milburn and Fisher in my defence. I can afford any back - which should I get?

The coaches have forced my hand.

I have no backline emergencies playing and neither (S.D.Thompson and Edwards) have been named as emergencies.

I'm going to drop one of them for either Taylor or N.J.Brown.

1. Who to drop?

2. Who to pick up?

Its such a newbish move. However I don't want to miss the N.J.Brown boat.

Although I could wait and then trade in Taylor next week.

hrmz.

Yeh actually that might be the goer, all my backmen should play this week.

I am looking to bring in N.Brown in the expense of L.Hansen, S.Thompson or A.Proud.

What do people think I should do?

keep proud at least he has his second game this week..

L.HANSEN and S.THOMPSON not sure why they can't get a game..however JESSE SMITH as emergency could be a good reason..

I have the same problem..getting rid of L.Hansen or S.Thompson for maybe Ladson or S.Fisher..

Welcome aboard sblack. :)
To be honest if I could afford Hunt with this trade I would be thinking a little differently- with my cash reserve I'd have $426,700 to spend...

I have the following:

Cash cows (moo moo) - N.Brown, C.Rioli, J.Hill, T.Tuck, Houli, Gamble, Bird

Maybe cows (moo) - B.Reid and A.Proud

Hacks (yes I know it's abit harsh) - S. Thompson, Hansen, Armitage

Now Thomo and Hansen dont look like getting a game for at least 5 weeks (since J.Smith is an emergency!! and Sinclair or is it Simpson is out and when they come back..that's another spot)

The equation- 17 trades left...in excess of 1million in reserves (only reason is I have many rookies)...thinking of either one of thomo or hansen for OSBORNE (310K), LADSON (480K) or S.FISHER (300k) or I wait one week for H.TAYLOR.. scoring 1850s.. was going to get Strokes for B.Reid (but Reid is now in the side)

Thanks for any advice..Yes I'm a cash cow man

I'm in the same position and I might just take a 0 and hope that one of Scott DT and J Edwards get in next week or see how taylor goes this week and if he's good pick him up.

im pretty sure your talking about the wrong fisher. s fisher is a jet and is in expense of 500k. if all ur backs are named on the ground (not extended bench, can get dropped from that), i would wait one week and jump on either pfeiffer/taylor.

Some interesting reading guys! :thumbsu:
Just a Qu, how much thought do you put into selecting a captain?

I've been pretty lucky so far, had Cox both weeks. In the past I have just kinda picked a captain and stuck with him for the whole season.

Is it worth changing from week to week and if so what factors come into play? Ground playing on/team playing against?

Cheers for your ideas !!!

Rank the following for scoring potential for Round 3:
- Pfeiffer v Proud
- Houli v Geary v Tuck v Bird
- Gamble v Rioli

Pfeiffer > Proud

Tuck > Houli > Bird > Geary (Well I have these 4 and I'm starting Tuck and Houli)

Rioli > Gamble

Now my turn SJ (or anyone else, Wasley wtf are you :p).

I have 7 playing backmen and no rookies in my starting 7 with Bradshaw the cheapest.

I have S.D.Thompson and J.Edwards on the pine. Neither is named, neither is an emergency. The N.J.Brown train leaves this week and the H.Taylor bus next week.

Its all good having trades, no good if you have no cash cows to make you money. Laidley shafted me last year with L.Adams. I can't see Edwards getting a game considering the Blues to come back.

Do I trade one of my backs this week for Brown, if so who?

If neither (or the other) back doesn't play next week do I bring in Taylor?

20 trades left, 1 will be used for Akermanis to Hill.

Pfeiffer, just looks more effective and playing against st. proud is playing syd
Tuck/Geary - houli could poss b a l8 out (corky) and not quite sure with bird
Rioi - playing roos, has no match up. 2 quick for any1. even tho gamble is playing melb. i reckon the mids will b kicking it over the fwds heads, and aiming at the goals themselves. 2 many options in fwds. imo geelong will b lookin for tomahawk/mooney/sj before gamble (mite also have limited game time)

taylor is playin melb this week. ball mite not get down there 2 much. sit tight with the backs this week and trade one of those rookies to taylor/pfeiffer/proud if either of the 2 are not named next week

If you have a good Geelong midfielder or Milburn make them captain.
