Is Lumumba really divisive?

Of course there are those who will always love him for being a premiership player, but I don’t see too many being too enamored of his body of work post departing Collingwood?

76 - Do you mean he’s so unliked he can’t be divisive?

I don’t see it that way, and I still have some sympathy for him as I see him as a very troubled person.

But he riles up posters in here - probably understandably - and more often than not it turns into a shit show of angry and negative posts.

Rather that didn’t happen this time, when our club is generating such positivity and doing so well in addressing historical wrongs.

Why was he even there? He wants nothing to do with the club, has refused to participate in its reconciliation efforts, is not an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, and has slunk away from the whole thing after his embarrassing efforts to speak for Krak and Leon.
Like Harry (and Meghan) giving the Royal Family the flick but wanting pride of place at the Coronation

Lumumba showing up and not engaging, just shows his intent of feeding the attention onto him which is honestly really pathetic and childish.
I've always supported him, but the longer it goes on, the more it seems he just really doesn't want any peace or reconciliation. I'm glad the club is moving forward, learning & growing.

Did he speak to Darcy? I hope he didn't snub him too. Not sure why he's taking it out on people not at the club whilst he was there.

I had the volume turned down on the radio this morning but I'm fairly sure I heard Sam Edmund on SEN say that he (Lumumba) sought out Moore for a discussion. But that almost seems too sensible to be true.

He did speak to Moore, but it seems those in the hierarchy of the board, Lumumba doesn’t have much respect or time for, or he just didn't know who Browne was....

He might also have introduced himself as Tom Browne's dad rather than the club's President. That would explain everything?

He would know who Browne is.
No respect I reckon

Why was Lumumba even there?

I'm fairly sure it was also said on SEN that Wilkinson (former GCS player) had an "intense" discussion with Browne and he suggested that the whole night (reconciling with Winmar) wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Lumumba...

Yes.
So he thinks he's the reason the reconciliation & apology occurred last night with Nicky, yet he's not interested in any reconciliation or peace with the club himself..?

Lumumba likely didn't want to compromise his court case. I don't know how that will get settled but sooner or later, Lumumba is going to have to be open to reconciliation, otherwise it will be a lengthy mediation process for all involved and he's going to walk away looking rather silly.
His supreme court writ is dead.

How could you not seek out the shining glow of our lord and saviour Darcy?

He's just about the perfect human.

Poor form bringing bad vibes to an occasion like that.

The healing ceremony was for Winmar, and all about Nicky Winmar, yet Lumumba wanted to bring another agenda to the night, that agenda being him.
The club has put out olive branches to Lumumba, and tried to have peace with him, but he has rejected all avenues of reconciliation. The club just needs to move on from him, let him keep shouting from the back of the room if he wishes too, but as a club we have looked to make huge progress over the last 2 to 3 years, with our acknowledgement of the wrongs committed in the past, and to make the club better and continue to learn and keep getting better.
It was great to see Moore attended, and he was brilliant in his speech. He is a fantastic ambassador for the footy club, and we are very fortunate to have him leading our club.
If Lumumba tried to deflect the occasion of the night onto him, well it didn't work, and it was about Nicky Winmar, the accepting of our apology to him, and getting him to share the occasion with his family, and Gil McAdam in particular....
In saying that, l really hope Lumumba can find peace within himself.....

Well, if you're invited than you respect the occasion and be the best you can.
Had a gut gutful of his childish behaviour.
Lumumba thinks he is Malcolm X.
What did he do to disrespect the occasion?
