Selection #6: Fatty Lumpkin

With pick 6 we select Fatty Lumpkin. Fatty played 221 games between S3-S16 winning a flag with the Roys and All SFA with the Swampies. He even squeezed a season in at the Gumbies where he had strong season in the ruck.

The Roys and Swampies to this day honour Fatty once a season as player from both sides play for the honour of the Fatty Lumpkin medal awarded by the captains of both sides in the match thread. fitzroybowiedog best summed this up.

Today we play today in honour of the late, great Fatty Lumpkin. A pioneer of the SFA, Fatty played 182 games over 12 seasons with the Roys and was a member of the S4 premiership team. Fatty captained the Roys, led it's goalkicking and was an all round champion Roy. He swapped the Maroon and Gorilla for the Swampies where he also won All-SFA selection in S9. Fatty was a staple player for the Roys, prolific, humourous and easy to befriend. He swapped back to the Roys, and eventually retired in Season 16.
Most old players in the league will know the name, although he may be a mystery and an enigma to many of the newer arrivals.

The Captains of the Roys and the Swamprats remember Fatty as a true gentleman of the game, who embraced and sculptured the essence of the SFA. We ask all who play today to participate in the spirit of fun, friendship and fair play that is Fatty Lumpkin's legacy.

At the conclusion of the match, both Captains will name a player from the opposing team who embodied these qualities, and these two players will be joint winners of the Fatty Lumpkin Medal

Vale FattyLumpkin. Very friendly bloke both on and off the fantasy footy field. A champion Roy from the golden era, and a major building block of the Roys history. And A Swampie who burned bright in his short time for the Rats.

Pick #7: Deestroy

Administrator from Seasons 5-6, Deestroy slots straight into our side at pick 7. Deestroy was a Season 13 Hall of Fame inductee, but left the league just two seasons later.

Some newer posters may not know the poster behind the Grand Final BOG award (and Demons' B&F award), but Deestroy was a behemoth in early days of Sweet.

On a personal level, Deestroy was my first ever captain, and had a huge impact on Mount Buller in the early seasons. A very worthy selection for this team.

Selection #3: Ljp86

With the third selection, we have one of the league's greatest ever contributors - and, coincidentally, the all-time games record-holder.

Ljp86 is closing in on 600 games, and should become the first to reach that milestone. With more than 500 of those alongside Pie 4 Life - remarkable in itself - this Dragon will be tough to get past.

Ljp86 is a 7-time All-Sweet FA representative, 3x Frankston Rover Medallist, 2x Mobbs Medallist, and a Hall of Fame Immortal. Ljp86 blessed us with tireless stats and ladders work for very many seasons. We really couldn't ask for much more!

Pick #8: Broken

With pick 8 we select Broken. Broken, like yours truly started in S3 and played 352 games. His accolades include 7 All SFA, 2 Frankston Rover and a premiership way back in S4. His drought of not winning a final is also legendary!

Broken entered the HoF in S16 and was inducted as an Immortal in S26. Maybe he should have played one more season! Broken is a quality poster and his roulette wheel made many players rich/destitute. The Broken Foundation is pending.

Who has been your biggest influence in Sweet?
Mobbs without a doubt. He got me in to the league, his siren call lured me back and I'm always annoying sounding him out about Roys related stuff.

With pick 10 we select ant555. Big ant is the epitome of a big game player having played in an incredible seven premierships in 474 games having started in S4.

ant555 also has two Deestroys, an All SFA and joined the HoF in S25 and he has also played in nine draws! He was also the inaugural inductee in to the Bombers Hall of Fame in S25.

ant555 maybe best known for his WWE moves in match threads, especially after a victory!

Itsmyshow is one of Sweet's best-ever goal-kickers, currently sitting at #4 on the all-time chart.

Itsmyshow debuted in Season 9 for the now-defunct Mod Squad, since playing for a further four clubs. No club has enjoyed their services more than the East Side.

Itsmyshow is a six-time All-Sweet FA representative, a Fred Medallist, and a league Hall of Famer. We're thrilled to have Itsmyshow as part of this team to boost our goal-kicking stocks!

Selection #12: Pie 4 Life

With pick 12 we select Pie 4 Life. Pie started in S5 and has played 532 games and has played an astonishing 530 of those games with Ljp86 - both true Dragons legends.

Pie has played in three premierships, is an All SFA player and joined the HoF in S15 and has won a range of awards at the Dragons. Pie was captain S5-S8. He apparently plays the odd game of WW and has affinity to koalas.

Mobbs once said Pie 4 Life is a jovial and industrious player who arrived with a strong desire to make it big in movies, but eventually settled on starting a fantasy footy club instead.

lioness played for three clubs from Seasons 1-13 (Titans - S1, Wonders - S2-6, Roys - S7-8, 13). They were the first ever player to reach 100 league goals. Check out this 2003 thread by Mobbs:

Selection #14: boncer34

With pick 14 we select boncer34. Bonce has achieved it all! Played 467 games with six clubs debuting in S6, six seasons of Admin, 3 premierships, 7 All SFA, Deestroy medal, TFLUA-Tiger award and Mobbenfuhrer medal. Bonce was inducted into HoF S13 and made an Immortal S16.

Bonce was more antagonistic in his early days. I refer to his Immortal interview as he shared his thoughts with okey - "a message echoed by Boncer throughout his career and as an administrator. That people needn't take things so seriously. That full on arguments and antagonism could exist within the forum, but that outside of it, it didn't matter. That two people could go toe to toe within the forum but remember the whole way through that none of it was personal. And most of it wasn't even honest."

Selection #15: loopy_cam

loopy_cam gained All-Sweet FA selection in Seasons 9, 12, and 13. With 271 games to their name (267 for the Bombers), loopy_cam is a Frankston Medallist and a Bombers great.

Such is loopy_cam's lasting impact on the league that their Hall of Fame elevation came post-retirement (Season 22) in Season 27.

loopy_cam slots in comfortably in this team, and it is a well-deserved selection.

With pick 16 we pick the ever popular beez. Another golden oldie that has an award named after him and probs statues outside the stadium he not coincidently won the first beez. He has played 448 games since S9 with three clubs.

beez has chalked up 7 All SFA, entered the HoF S22 and is the reigning Gumbies B&F winner. He still got it!

Aparintly beez duznt like spelling erors. So to you beez, welcome to esteemed company and all the peanut butter sandwiches and ham and cheese toasties you can handle.

The next selection is everybody's favourite perennial rookie: sausageroll. snags debuted in Season 7 and has since notched up more than 500 games, including 25+ games at five individual clubs.

sausageroll has made the All-Sweet FA team on six occasions, and is a league Hall of Famer. With quick wit and a love for all things baked goods, sausageroll has been a consistent contributor to the league for more than 15 real-life human years.
