Hi all,

I'm hoping some of you are interested in a podcast I've been working on for the past year, exploring the build of every non-Victorian AFL club - AFL Team Builders.

The eight-part series goes behind the scenes with the people (inaugural CEOs, presidents, coaches, board members, and star players) tasked with building the clubs that joined the then-VFL as it expanded beyond the confines of Victoria.

It launched with South Melbourne's move to Sydney, then Brisbane, West Coast, the Crows, Freo and now the Power is out today. Some fantastic stories from those who had boots on the ground including the license bid, the list build, preseason training and the first season.

Some interesting points from Bucky regarding the colour selection, I'd never really heard that before. Love listening to him talk.

Bucky actually sends me to sleep. He was a footy coach, teacher and House Master of mine. Despite me idolising him as a footballer he wasn't particularly inspiring in any of those roles. He's kind of monotone. Obviously did some good things as CEO but yeah, just don't find him particularly interesting.

Dont forget we had him on the Port Bigfooty podcast back in 2018, have a listen to that also

Each to their own Papa G. It least you get to sleep holding a premiership medal or two, and a decent education;) . Personally I think he was one of the single most important factors in Port's evolution to the AFL and first premiership. He's modest and a quiet achiever and easy underestimated, in a world of flashy big talkers with minimal personal integrity.

I had to stop you at 14:00
Foz Williams, nah its Fos Williams.
Say it like you are saying the first half of Fosters.

23:00 North Melbourne knocked us out of the finals in 1999 and that was ok.
I remember being so pissed off that we had that "meet the players" thing after that North Melbourne game that I was staying in a hotel room on St Kilda road and did not sleep that night, I spent the entire night writing an email to Brian and sent it the next day.
When I returned to Adelaide a few days later I was given a message that Brian had rung wrt that email and would I call him back. I did, we had a good chat about how I didn't like us celebrating a loss, he let me clear the air and I appreciated it.

Overall I think you've done an excellent job of capturing a slice of our history.
I am curious though why SteveAllen's multiple comment's bagging us are ok but my response to him was removed.

Feel free to provide me some feedback on my rant yesterday.
