To quote our fearless leader Ant Bear, the interchange is a specialist position, should be celebrated as such, and is absolutely not reserved solely for inactive have-beens who should have retired long ago, rookies vying for a "better" position (presumably the other interchange position), and straight up inactives.
Or, at least, I'm pretty sure that's what Ant Bear said, and not a horribly offensive remark about my treasured position and those who specialise in it.
As you know, interchange specialists have long been overlooked by this league. They haven't received the praise and adoration they have deserved. It has been made plainly clear to me that no interchange specialist will be seriously considered for All Sweet-FA honours, even if they dominate their position and have a strong posting season.
The league is worse off as a result.
But this means we need a place to celebrate all who play in the greatest position of all. Those who start on the pine but can impact the game in a multitude of ways, from a stellar defensive effort like Headless, to kicking the match-winner in the final minute like Headless.
Through the season, nominate quality interchange performances in this thread. And, for once, let's #celebratethepine.
P.S. This thread is going to be a HIT.
