Hockey jerseys

A few articles going around have suggested that the Ducks will wear black and orange jerseys next year. Could work, I guess. New logo and uniforms will be unveiled next month.

yeah back when they announced that they would drop the "mighty" tag they pressed that they really wanted to distance themselves from the disney movie connection, so orange and black would be doing that, although, can you say philly flyers. albeit, orange and black, its a good-looking colour scheme...except when its not burgundy and white of course :thumbsu:

An interesting thread on the HFBoards said the following:

- The Sabres will have new jerseys next year, probably blue and gold, maybe with a tinge of grey.
- The Thrashers are looking at making their alternate their permanent home jersey.
- The Bruins will use their vintage black jersey as their alternate, replacing the yellow "poo bear" one. I quite liked that one... probably the one one, but meh...
- The Canucks will use their vintage blue for their alternate. I wish they would just change back altogether. Great jerseys.
- The Capitals are definitely changing their jerseys, probably to the red, white, and blue of old.
- The Flames are discontinuing use of their black jerseys as their alternate.
- The Oilers may use their vintage home uniforms as an alternate and discontinue their current one, which again, I liked.
- And of course the Ducks will be unveiling their new jerseys, logo, and colour scheme next month.

And finally, there is a rumour that the NHL may allow advertisements on jerseys, to which I'm opposed, but may be in approval if they have only one small advertisement on the left breast (the reverse of what we do in football). If it gets to be what jerseys look like in Europe, that's a disgrace.

Looking forward to seeing the changes, in particluarly to Buffalo, Washington, and Anaheim.
I'm with you on the advertisements Sid the Kid, I like them as they are atm.

I went to highschool near Detroit for a year on exchange in 89. My best mate's dad owned a sports shop down there and was mates with most of the wings players. So on my 18th birthday (i was back home by then), they send me a home jersey some new dude gave them (they asked to get one from the club for my birthday) it was one of his game jerseys. Apparently he was going to be a star, but no one new much about him, he had just rolled up from Russia. And that is how i got my rookie year game worn Sergei Federov jersey.

This is apparently the cap the Anaheim Ducks will give to their draftees next week - most likely their new logo.

Oh, wait...

Turns out the pic is a fake. Someone photoshopped a proposed logo onto the Pens' hat (I thought it looked like out hat). So yeah, ignore. But the real stuff will be unveiled in like five days, or somethin...

What jerseys do you guys own, NHL or otherwise?

Kings away with Gretzky 99 :)
2 x Avs home
Ducks home
Canucks home
Panthers home
World Junior Championship 2006 jersey
Team Canada red
Vancouver Giants (WHL) signed by most of the 2005 team (incl. Gilbert Brule)

I think that's about it. I've also got a collection of my own jerseys and a NSW jersey that I swapped one of my Vic jerseys for after the 2005 Nationals.

I've been collecting them since the late 90's. I have about 20 sitting dormant in my wadrobe, some are market jobs but some are authentic from when my old man went to North America a couple of years back. My favourite one is my authentic Preds home jersey.

I have a friend from Austria who collects game worn jerseys complete with bloodstains and all that he bought from enforcers in both in NHL and minor leagues. Damn, wish I could remember more but lost touch recently.

in summary, a photoshop of the legit thing? cant wait for their jerseys, and buffalo, washingtons, et al

I don't know, it was weird. First people said it was real. Then people said it was a proposed Ducks logo that had been photoshopped onto a Penguins' cap. Then someone said they had found a link on the NHL shop that will be used after it is announced, with the same picture on it.

I guess we'll see in a few days.

It was also said that Buffalo will give their draftees a cap with their current logo on it, and someone said that they had heard that Buffalo will keep their current jerseys for next season, but use their old vintage uniforms as alternates. So who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.

I have a few hockey jerseys.

My favourite is my authentic customised Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, with Doug Gilmour's 93 on it.

My other authentic jerseys: Edmonton Oilers (Gretzky 99), New York Rangers, and Los Angeles Kings.

My replica jerseys: Montreal Canadiens (Roy 33), Colorado Avalanche, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Chicago Blackhawks and Quebec Nordiques.

When I was younger, I was on holidays on the coast and saw a guy with a Gilmour Leafs jersey one. So when I began to follow hockey later on, he instantly became one of my favourite players (he was playing for the Blackhawks at that time), probably just because of remebering that jersey.

And I can't believe I still remember that. I usually have the worst long-time memory imaginable...

in australia, its rare to see hockey jereseys worn, like ive seen a couple of red wings jerseys, quite a few toronto ones, even columbus. but hardly ever seen lettered and numbered jerseys. but, when i have, and lets say ive seen 6 numbered jerseys in oz, 4 have been doug gilmour ones. i dunno what it is, but reading flamethrower and crosby's posts, it staggers me that doug gilmour seems to be the most occuring player on the backs of oz hockey fans.

Insert Jaw dropping emoticon.

Sergei rules.

I've got...

St Louis Blues (replica, unnumbered)
San Jose Sharks (replica, unnumbered)
Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (replica, unnumbered)
LA Kings (replica, unnumbered)
Mentor High School, Ohio (original, #9 Miles)

Currently I've got sitting in Skatebiz my St Louis #26 Cajanek jersey. It's waiting for my 2 (mine and the missus) #19 Brisbane Bluetongues Davey Upton jerseys to arrive.

I remember a couple of years back I was catching the train home and there was a lady in a Minnesote Wild jersey. Naturally I couldn't let that one pass me by and we ended up having a really long chat, she was a US flight attendant on a stop over for a few days in Sydney. Hockey fans are pretty rare in this country but it's a small world after all :D

Hehe, it's strange to think Davey Upton will have his name on the back of someone elses jersey. I remember watching that kid as a 10 year old and he absolutely dominated back then too.
Had a few friends who were great inline players, who all later started ice that could've been anything. Around 2001-02 QLD had some AMAZING talent at Davey's age. He was arguable the best of the bunch (tough call coz they were all so talented) but is the only one who is still playing I think. :(

He's only something like 16 or 17 now so he's still got plenty of time left to develop and he's playing brilliantly now. Providing he keeps going the way he is he may end up being an export player :D
