Hodge i believe would be a solid investment at 4 with clarke at 5 will make the Aust. batting order a little bit more solid.

THOUGHTS???

What would happen to Shane Watson is Symonds and Hodge do really well?
Hodge wont make much difference to Watson, Symonds is his biggest concern, if Symonds makes runs then Watson might have another year or 2 atleast before getting back, Jimmy Maher however reckons in next years Ashes Australia should have Watson at 4 and Symonds at 5 in the team

In other news the ECB has started a campaign to have Jimmy Maher become Australias chief selector :D

When Hodge-Podge fails they should bring back Boof.

I think what Jimmy Maher is saying is that both Watson & Symonds are so useless and unpredictable, he'd rather them out of the Queensland XI.

The best 6 batsmen and best 4 bowlers should be picked, not ordinary batsmen who are very ordinary bowlers such as Watson & Symonds. Nobody will be as good as Flintoff, he's one of a kind.

What about Jon Moss, he has runs & wickets on the board.

I'd be interested to see how much experience Clarke had batting at 4 or above in FC cricket before his Test debut. One would imagine that as a junior member of the NSW during most of his games there, he wouldn't have had the chance too often in his career.

Obviously would have been doing it in his relatively unsuccessful stint at Hamps?
