It is now, the old tri-series used to go off though.
There's no reason we couldn't do that again with specific teams. Australia, India, Pakistan in a tri-series would absolutely go off here. Teams get their ODI credits in to keep them in the top 8 for qualification, India and Pakistan matches will have solid crowds due to their immigrant population here.

Yea it would need to be scheduled properly & prices dropped, CA only gives a toss about BBL that's probably not gonna change.

It's amazing to think now that we once had a West Indies/Zimbabwe tri-series

So basically we'll never have a meaningful ODI series in this country ever again?
Its looking like that.

Cricket Australia have already shown how badly they have planned things and their thirst for the broadcasters/revenue dollar. eg think of the 50 over ODI series against England , 2-3 days out after the T20 World Cup in 2022.

Even with the influx of bilateral T20 series these days, most of them are just played to keep cities and TV viewers happy. The T20 World Cup this year will be a success though.

Some of the more memorable games were actually games not involving Australia in that tri series.

Games I remember as a kid, South Africa v NZ at the GABBA, England v Sri Lanka at Adelaide Oval (when Murali was called for chucking)......Those were the days.........
