how many times has Josh Hill been dropped for Brennan Stack and vise versa.

can't they just remember the reasons they drop them for every week??

i dont care how good they play in the vfl, the blokes are deadset spuds.

im convinced theres some kind of injoke going on where they just keep playing these duds.

Rockets taking the piss, you watch after 2 useless games by Brennan Stack he'll get dropped for Josh Hill, I can't believe Stack's playing.

And the MC drops Wallis for him - Wallis has him covered in every single department, and more importantly, has the traits to be a premiership player (which Stack does not). This is the type of player that game time should be invested in (especially in a season like this).

Has Stack been in the bests in the 2nds once the week before being promoted? Seriously.

He's a young man who has played less than 20 games of AFL. You act like he needs to be a superstar right off the bat. Maybe his VFL form warrants a call-up? Should we just let him rot in the VFL, wasting what may be a solid player when he gets a few more games into him?

I'm not sure about you, but I'm a supporter of the club. Which means I support every player who pulls on the red white and blue. Do you?

so your one of those that just gladly accepts everything that the bulldogs do?

his clanger/tragic error rate at afl level is down right unacceptable as a player who "pulls on the red white and blue"

sounds to me like your more of an employee than a supporter.

i'd support him if he gave us one good game of football. but he is incapable of it.

correct - as i said in another thread, play all blokes on the list giving equal oportunity for all players on the list till round 22, and then make the tough calls

we never know , we might be surprised - on current form Stack is a Spud, but plenty of players from other teams have turned their careers around after a kick up the arse

cheers

Chill people.

I don't mind Stack and am glad he's back in the team. He has been far from the worst of all the crap players we have tried this year. Even a lot of people on here, earlier in the year, were saying how much he'd improved since last year. He reminds me a lot of Travis Varcoe with his size and pace as a rebounding defender. Varcoe was roundly criticised for years at Geelong before becoming a quality player. Stack's main weakness (decision making) can be improved on with experience. Obviously Rocket sees some potential in him as a defender, we just have to hope he can keep improving.

He hasn't been the worst player for us this year. He deserves a shot. As for the last line of your post- did you support any of his four goals in round 18 vs Freo in 2009?

I'm glad Stack is back. Let the kid play out the year. Then we'll find out if he's worth keeping. If not, we can delist him.

His decision making is atrocious. I suppose the hope is that he can improve that with experience and confidence. If he does improve his decision making to AFL standard, he could be a decent player.

As soon as the coach goes, Stack will be turfed out quicker than last week's leftovers.

Real kick in the guts to a guy like Tutt who tried his guts out for Willy last week.

4 goals against the 2nd bottom of the ladder team, at etihad, that only had 4 wins at the time. 16 bulldogs players had more disposals than he did.

doesn't count to much to me, but thats just my opinion i guess.

It's funny that his first game was his best.

I could have kicked four goals that afternoon.

Stack's main weakness (decision making)
Added to the fact that his hands are not, and IMO, will never, ever be of an AFL standard. In 15 years of watching footy closely, I don't think I've never seen someone fumble the ball as much as he does.

I (try to) never tear into players, but am able to face facts that there are some players out there that have traits that dictate that they cannot be part of an AFL premiership team.

It's not a "criticise for the sake of being critical" exercise, just a statement of fact. When it comes down to it, 70% (?) of kids who get drafted don't play more than 50 games - so the percentages dictate that most draftees won't make the grade, and a number of people predict that he's one of them, and therefore believe that the development that he's getting should be directed towards players that can be part of a premiership group in the future.

We try to be supportive, and he's done exceptionally well to be among the top 0.5% (or whatever) of footballers in the country that make it on an AFL list, but the indicators to a number of us unfortunately are that he's not good enough to be among the top 0.2% (or whatever).

I'm very surprised. I'm so over this year, Wallis showed a bit last week I thought, need to keep playing Mitch to get games into him. Club has totally lost me until there are major changes starting with Fantasia and Dalrymple or what ever his name is.

That's all fair enough. He may well not be up to standard. Last year I thought he was woeful. Clearly Rocket thinks he has some potential and I think there has been some evidence of that in the games he's played this year. I'm only really criticising the people who act like raving lunatics on here every time he gets picked, especially when we are rebuilding and should be trying these guys out.

On the positive side at-least the MC has been consistent. Consistently Woeful!

Jokes aside everyone here knows he is barely VFL level.

A lot of selections this year and frankly other years have been questionable. I hope Smorgan is as angry as some of us with these picks.

If Eade stays we need a total clean out of Assistants.

I've been a supporter of Stack because even though he really isn't very good, at least he offers something and tries hard. I also think he has generally improved this year. But I strongly doubt he will ever be a regular player in a successful team.

Having said that - While we have a team riddled with players who don't have a dip, I'm happy for him to occupy a position so long as he does have a dip. When we have 22 better players who actually put in offensively and defensively, then we should drop him for good, and probably delist him.

But right now beggars can't be choosers. I'd prefer an untalented trier than a talented downhill skiier.

One of many problems with this team, and the main reason we can't cope with a press is because few players run hard to present options, and few players run hard to help out in defense. Stack does both.

Once again, beggars can't be choosers.

Agreed. To be honest I thought Tutt deserved a run in front of a few including Stack and even Dahlhaus. He looked very good against West Adelaide. Hopefully his turn is not far off.

This. Unlike Hill, Stack does try.

It's funny I hear ppl say play guys that want to play, yet when you see the MC put in stack and mulligan they go completely the opposite approach.

Yeah Stack has heaps of potential.......to bring the players water, but then again he wont know who is who and will fumble about all over the place. It's honestly a joke I get worried when he is near the ball. He has had an opportunity, but he is not good enough. Simple as that.
