Honestly??? Brennan Stack??? HOW????? WHY??

Hey Gus, at least i played for the club and bled for the club as did a few of my family. So when i go to the football and see a guy fall over all the time, turn the ball over most of the time and have absolutely no physical presence at the ball, it really upsets me. Who could forget his tunover at Fremantle that cost us the game or the pathic effort to knock the ball away in the goal square in the RICHMOND match when they were coming at us or in the Prem final for Willy last year when he had to take a crucial mark near goal and ducked his head late in the match. As my father played for the club was a selector of our premiership team and runners up team, i think i have been around the club long enough to have the knowledge of what it takes to be an AFL player. SO SORRY, STACK WILL LET THE CLUB DOWN AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE HE CANT HACK THE TOUGH STUFF in the AFL.I will go to games when he is not playing and i will support the club to the end. Thankyou
You sir, are a clown.

I don't believe you have any more connection with the club than anyone else on here. In fact, you're probably a fair weather supporter who hasn't paid for a membership this year.

And I believe you're school boy age.

Before the year started I had given up hope on Stack. But to me, he's actually improved this year. He brings something that we don't have and that's sustained run at good speed. In our team of 22, only Griffen, Murphy and Wood (when playing) have given us that this year. That's 3 players in a game where running is essential. In any other year, Stacks issues with ball handling would mean he stays VFL. I assume the MC is now treating this year as a development and learning about the list year. In this case, I'm fine to play Stack in the seniors to give every chance to stake his claim as an AFL player. I just hope the MC do everything they can this year to know who to go with moving forward. The worst thing that can happen to a list is to have too many players at around 22 years of age that you are still not sure whether they will make it or not.

Wow! Has their ever been a player that has divided supporters so much in 12 hours as much as poor old Stack?
4 pages and counting

Everyone made mistakes tonight and Stack made his share.....otherwise I thought he did some impressive things. Worth persevering with.

Why does this kid get so many chances? There are players who've done less (more?) and be dropped.

Stack tries, but he stuffs up. Clearly lacks footy smarts, you can't teach a dumb person.

Thought he did alright tonight.

His goal was good, and his defensive effort is there.

Stack is so shit. He'll never be a premiership quality player. So there is no use keeping him. It's as simple as that. Wallis is infinitely better.

Jesus, he actually plays a decent game and people are still ragging on him.

I am all for peoples opinions, but driving home from the game I thought that I might find one consensus on this board tonight and that would be that Stack is not up to it, I can not believe what I am reading, while he may not be on his own being a spud, he is certainly at the top of the list.

He is no good, will never be no good and should not get another game for this football club if they are serious going forward, I am convinced he has a picture of Eade rooting a dog or something similar.....

You can say all you want about the nice goal, if you are an afl footballer you should kick those goals, how about the two loose ball efforts with no pressure that he stuffed up, both should have resulted in shots at goal, how about the lack of work rate, how about the fact he doesn't go in for a hard ball.......

He is no good full stop

Good spoils. Nice goal. Continues to put in effort. Made some poor errors, but no more than anyone else really. Still far from our worst and worth persevering with.

If he is the future of our club we are in real trouble. He has no effort, have a look how he jogs to contests, doesn't have 2nd or 3rd efforts. Good spoils might get you a game in under tens but he is a spud

i haven't seen much of stack but i liked what i saw tonight... he did a few goods things unlike sherman who seems to do good things but just not the team things...

I have stated several times on here that I don't rate him, not sure why you're trying to convince me that he's no good. I doubt there is a supporter on here that rates him.

However, he's just an easy target and a whipping boy. What's the point of bagging him on here tonight when

a) We already know he's not much chop
b) He actually played ok
c) Clearly our problems go much deeper than him

Things are going badly at the moment, we have a shit game in which he actually played ok and he is still one of the first ones to cop it.

He isn't the reason we lost tonight, I don't think he's a good player but it doesn't mean he can't be given credit where it's due.

Not saying he cost us the game but he certainly didn't help, his two efforts to run onto lose balls, one in the first quarter I believe where he had to hit a bloke on the chest 20 metres in front of him and couldn't even kick the ball and one in the last quarter where he once again ran onto a lose ball, nearly ran into his team mate, got tackled and had a free awarded against him both should have resulted in scoring opportunities, so they may have helped. He is no good you are correct, so why are we playing him?

As for trying to convince you he is no good, I wasn't trying to convince anyone, you said he had a decent game not me. We have to agree to disagree on that point I think

I still dont think he has a long term future but he had a 4 quarter crack tonight, did some good things did some bad things but he tried. Higgins 3 possesions second half, same with Gia after good first halves were the ones who let us down. Not to mention the beautiful TV shot of Shaggy, Our two all Australians, and our brownlow medialist all sitting in the stands together at the halfway mark of the season.

Get off Stacks Back, he had a crack.

Focus shoud be on be on the captain, he had about forty touches in the first half, majority went to the saints.

The Standard you set is the standard you get..............missed targets was the standard that was set......
.

Unfortunately TV commentaters talk stats and talked up Boyds game.

We need an efficient captain, one who sets the right example....

Had a crack were you at the game or watching on TV, he doesn't have a crack, he is a hack, doesn't have any second efforts, tackle pressure, awareness the list goes on, but I think I am losing the battle, so lets all accept meritocracy and be at the bottom of the ladder for the next five years, cause thats where we will be, he will be like Raph Clarke on the list for 8 years and still no good

You could do this for any player. I'm not saying Murphy lost us the game, but not doing a crap kick-in resulting in a Saints goal might have helped. I'm not saying Boyd cost us the game, but not kicking it to the opposition on numerous occasions might have helped. I'm not saying Jones cost us the game, but not missing simple shots at goal might have helped. You get my drift...
