I said earlier in the day that humour is a means for people to deal with the situation, but also to point out the stupidity and absurdity of the situation. This guy is a clown, and his method of getting his message across is boneheaded at best. Yes, the situation is obviously serious and dangerous, but nobody has joked about or wished ill upon the hostages, just the fool that somehow thinks he's going to get his way and win support for his cause by pointing a gun at people in a chocolate shop.
