Seriously, it's a disgrace how these days, all a woman has to do is cry 'womens rights' or 'abuse' and everyone is up in arms.
How many girls/women take advantage of the fact that todays society is overly sensitive about womens rights, etc. They play that card so often to get what they want because everyone is too scared that they'll be seen as a 'woman hater' if they call them on their bull.
Not saying that there aren't genuine situations where it IS relevant and valid, but seriously, the over sensitivity in this area is taken advantage of too often.

St Kilda players are idiots, if only for the fact they could be doing far, far better for themselves. I mean if you're going to **** a girl of dubious age at least make sure she's incredibly hot.
KD is clearly an idiot, and not only that, but she also appears to have an unhealthy self centered obsession with being in the media spotlight. Doesn't bode well for her when this scandal goes away finally.
Above all, Ricky Nixon is an idiot. What an earth did he think he was doing? Even if the rumours turn out to be false... I still don't see why he would choose to associate himself in any way with that girl. It's just asking for trouble.

I love how everyone implies that this would of been a closed case if any other club was involved.
This was a unique situation for St Kilda and the AFL, something they will probably never encounter again.

This deserves it's own thread IMO, the girl should hang her head for the part she played, however the media deserve a heap of criticism for exploiting this girl for headlines, and setting this issue back a good ten years.
Journalists like Robyn Riley and Caroline Wilson deserve honourable mentions for using this unstable girl as some kind of vehicle for womens rights, it was opportunistic and sickening, and subsequently did more damage than good to the 'respect for women' movement in the AFL.
Hope the media feel extremely uncomfortable for the part they had to play.

I just watched this and cringed the whole way through it. Major observations:
Immature and completely untrustworthy and the descriptions that come to mind. You can sum it up in 15 minutes.
Whilst the players that had sex with her showed poor judgement those that should know better through their age, experience and positions of importance - the media and Nixon, should hang there heads in shame.
Why did it take a 60 Minutes journo to get to the truth about the pregnancy? This story has been running for months. It really shows you how poor press journalists are at their job. Pathetic! All of them. Lazy, gutter dwelling scumbags. Hinch, Wilson, all at the Hun. You should be writing apologies to your readers.
Kate Langbrook - whilst you aren't a journalist, you gave this girl airtime, called her 'amaaazing' and made us all want to vomit by praising a lying, attention seeking, scheming young girl for her behaviour. Pathetic. Truly pathetic.

The point stands that this girl was many years junior than the players ..and she is the scheming one...it's simple ...tell your players to keep their dicks in their pants when around star struck teenage girls .

I think the hotel accommodation has more to do with an alleged video of post grandfinal celebrations. They are not compensating for the past just protecting the future

I think everyone else is basing their comments on the facts, in so far as they can be determined. This one has been ruled out a long time ago.

It is idiotic to suggest the players need to be protected......just as it is idiotic to state it the other way around.
Yet that is exactly what the media lynch mob were suggesting. The biggest focus needs to go on those media gutter slime such as:
- Caro
- Hinch
- Robin Riley (a noboby from the Hun who relentlessly beat this up)
They were happy to lay the boots into the saints and afl in general over this, smear innocent people and showed no regard for the truth. Disgusting.

I wish I were as lucky as these players to learn at such a young age that,women are very very scary people.
He may have been attracted to her, doesn't mean you should then go and jump in bed with her. Sam Gilbert is a good looking bloke, he should be rooting 9's and 10s with ease.

I think its funny how saints supporters have no problem believing the girl because NOW she says she lied about being preggers to Gilbert, if shes such a liar why you so sure she is NOW telling the truth? Maybe she thinks she has a shot with him or her love for him is so strong in her twisted head or feels sorry for him so is spinning this way now? Not saying I believe that but nothing would surprise me in this soap opera.
