Interesting that so many are absolutely sure that we will fail in finals this year.

There are a few important differences from previous years.

Hinkley not in the box so not driving gameday strategy (many would argue our undoing in previous finals)

Different set of players that form the nucleus of the side. (Butters, Rozee, JHF who tend to stand up when the heat is on)

I'm cautiously optimistic that we surprise a few in finals this year.
There's a reason you are cautious with your optimism and will consider a finals win a surprise.

Think about why for 2 mins.

This week is huge. Looked like we are getting back to our best v GWS. Play well and beat Freo comfortably I reckon we can win it all. We'll flog Richmond and should finish 2nd if Collingwood do us a favour and beat Lions. This midfield is going to dominate the AFL for years. They will win us a flag at some stage, just a matter of when.

Yes, a very, very big chance to finish top two.
To all the people who think Carr is coaching the team, let's hope he is loaded up full bottle with his Freo local knowledge.

Fingers crossed for a win , would be huge for momentum if we win this one .
Visentini over Hayes if he’s fit . Boak in for McEntee but they’d probably drop Evans first . When McEntee had a patch where he kicking goals and getting 12 possessions I thought he’d turned the corner but he’s dropped off again in output .
Lord I guess stays in even though he probably doesn’t deserve it . He does compete quite well but needs to hold his marks and convert his chances .
Jonas probably did enough to stay in .
It’s a crying shame Fantasia can’t get on the park . With him and Rioli for polish and SPP and Byrne Jones for pressure .
Hopefully the Finn can kick straight , he’s good for 3-4 goals if he’s kicking straight .
They’re in season best form at the minute so it’ll be a good kill if we can do it

Any hope I had of winning the premiership is gone now.

What’s the incentive for us to win the premiership if Hinkley’s job is safe for two more years?
This is my main concern the syndicate has secured its masters future they’ll relax now you watch

I think Brisbane and Melbourne are every bit as flakey as us. So if we finish second we can make a gf but will probably lose to Collingwood.

Can see a 14.6 to 8.16 type score line where we once again regret missed opportunities in front of goal.

Our defence is BOG average. That doesn’t win grand finals, in one finals game we will get exposed and smashed, history doesn’t lie there.

I think our defence is decent at full strength but severely lacks depth.

Most likely out in a prelim again, maybe an embarrassing GF loss to Melb/Collingwood.

Can you just imagine the garbage this smug campaigner, along with Koch and Kane Cornes would come out with if we do jag a flag.

Before the season started I had us Owen 5 and repeating 2022.

So based on what I've seen so far this season I'm expecting to see us Bradburying our way to a second flag. Tredders going Kenny finger wiggles on Kenny's head just before he runs off with cup and all the players chase after him while the AFL play Benny Hill sound track

Because thats never happened before has it?
Across Hawthorn's 3 peat era, only one side beat them twice in the same year. Would you like to guess who it was ?
I'll give you a hint, it was us and we missed finals the same year.
That was 8 years ago lol
