Dead set certainties-
Ablett
Bartel
Scarlett

Should be certain-
Corey
Johnson

Maybe-
Selwood
Mackie
Harley

Very rough but would surprise-
Ottens
Chapman
Ling
Enright
Milburn
Stokes - have a look at his season in comparison with 'coonskin head Medhurst & Ryan O'verrated. Not many better small forwards in it this year, though dead sure one of these blokes will get it.

Have to agree with CF , carnt see Stevie J making the list this year, His good games have been very few this year compared to last year.

Gaz , Bartel , Corey , Scarlo should all make it.

Enright , Selwood & Ling will be no suprise . they have a huge chance and Mackie is an outside chance.

Make an argument for the players that will take his HFF position.

Possible HFFer's in the mix for AA this year include our Gazza, Boomer Harvey, Medhurst, Murphy, Okeefe, and the Pav an outside chance too. These players have had a better year than Dog this year IMHO.

AA forward line prediction:

OKeefe Reiwodlt Harvey

Medhurst Franklin Fevola

O'Keefe is 69th in the league for goals kicked with 21 goals for the season. No chance.

Medhurst is some chance. He has kicked 48 goals, 1 goal fewer than Johnno. He averages more marks - 7.5 to 5.8 - but fewer possessions - 15.7 to 19.8 - than Johnno.

I think it's harder to break into the team than it is to lose your spot. Johnson has done pretty much identically as well as last season and there are no obvious candidates to take his spot.

Without wanting to put a dampner on this...I just want the flag, to hell with AA.

I know our players are good, I don't care if they are AA as I could mount a case for the vast majority of the side being in there - 21-1 after all.

Get the flag Catters, that is what matters :thumbsu:

9 Will make it.
Some of them are maybes.

Ablett
Bartel
Scarlett
Selwood
Corey
Harley
Johnson
Ling
Enright

Mackie is an absolute cert. Ablett, Scarlett, Corey, also certs. Ling as well if they follow the same sort of model they did last year.

Milburn, Harley, Enright, Johnson, Stokes are solid maybes. I heard Chapman mentioned by one commentator but can't see him getting there.

Personally it's a bit of a nothing after last year - I just want the premiership!

when does the All Australians get announced

After the first or second week of finals from memory, I think its the second. Last year they announced a 40-man preliminary squad beforehand but I can't remember when. Would be out soon, possibly this week.

I think us Geelong fans were overindulged with 9 All-Australians last year. Although we've been a better team this year, our individual players haven't starred as much and there has been much more competition from other teams, namely Hawthorn and North Melbourne.
I think we will get around 4, maybe 5 or 6 if we are lucky. We deserved around 7 last year but the selectors got carried away (Corey and Mooney were lucky). The only near certainities I can see are Scarlett, Ablett, Bartel and Corey. The rest are all maybes: Harley, Ling, S. Johnson. The likes of Mackie and Stokes won't make the team, they just not in the same league as some of the other potential AA's. I doubt we'll get even 9 players in the 40-man preliminary squad this year, let alone the team.

mackie is bound to make it.

he has been the best rebounding defender this year by a long way.

mcleod has had a bad year as had johncock and kennelly and co so he should get a spot on the hb line.

he gets 25 poss every week, does a good defensive job on top of that on either small or tall- so if he doesnt make it he would be stiff.

i didn't think SJ had as good a year as to get AA......

anyway, here are mine, i'm not going to say certainties, but best chance at making it...

Very High Chance:
Ablett
Bartel
Corey
Ling
Scarlett

High Chance:
Selwood
Milburn
Enright

OK Chance:
Harley
Mackie

I think people are being a bit miserly with their predictions. With our H&A record this year its not unreasonable to expect at least 7 AA representatives:

There is nothing surer:
Ablett
Bartel
Corey
Scarlett

Most probably:
Selwood (surely he can't be a Brownlow fancy and not make the AA team?)
Harley
S. Johnson

Not without a chance:
Enright
Mackie

Ling, Milburn, Mooney, Kelly and Stokes have all been fantastic without being the best player in their position IMO; any would be very lucky to make the team.
