Before today, I would have said the bare minimum - three. And that would have been tough. We would have axed Chick, who wants to play on.

But let's assume we end up with a top 5 pick as minimum in return for Judd.

Suddenly we have picks 3-5, 13 and 30.

What happens if we trade someone like Morton or McKinley?

Unless we delist a fourth player, we will get nothing in return. We'll get a draft pick we can't use.

Judd leaving is going to have a massive ripple effect on how we manage our list at the end of this year.

Confirmed
Wooden (retired)
Judd (&$&#& !)

Highly likely
Rojo (getting worse and end of contract this year)
Sampi (no motivation, likes eating turtle)
Chick (punching Embers and abused head trainer)
Sharp (rookie but still going)

McKinley has been given another contract. Given we are losing 5 players we should just top up from the draft and hopefully Fev.

Wooden
Sampi
Judd
Chick
Possibly McKinley or Morton (trade)

Cousins and Braun are both eligible for the veterans' list next year, which will open up two spots on the main list (at the expense of two rookie list spots).

C.Jones and possibly Spaanderman will be upgraded.

So we'll have four or five draft picks, unless we get a player for Judd.

I think you're missing the point.

Let's say we delist Sampi, Wooden and Chick. That's the bare minimum.

The Judd trade is going to net us at least one pick above our current first-rounder.

So we'll have 3 picks inside the top 30.

If we want to trade anyone else, then what are we going to get?

Another pick we can't use?

might be an opportunity for a restructure to keep the opposition guessing.

Would have to be giving thought to Ash Hansen's place in the team in relation to his injury plagued body and how much he can be relied on.

Cripples our structure when he's out of the side.

I do mean trade, not delist btw.

Other spots on the least might rely on that.

Hansen is a good player.

I don't think we have enough key forward options to cut him lose.

Who knows until trade week? Morton has been linked with Hawthorn, but who would we get for him? Maybe trade multiple picks to get a KPP player from a club. No-one available springs to mind though.

Well the idea I assumed was to get one at least for Juddas.

I like Hansen too but the guy's body fails him consistently and the fact that we are continually without him and lack other options is still a major issue.

If we get Fev, things might get interesting.

Would rather package Staker with a pick and try to get an upgrade than lose Hansen.

That's what i have been thinking, just looking at this tradee with carlton, what does everybody think of jarred waite? him, hunter and staker could swing from forward to back

Do people still think it will be the minimum three?

Chick, RoJo and Wooden gawn.

If we get a player and two top 20 pics for Judd, it will four in and four out.

That would mean we don't use pick 30 and would still have to sort something out with Richmond for Morton.

Morton + pick 30 for Richmond's 2nd-rounder?

Its a muddle atm isnt it. Who knows Gunnar.

McKinley Morton both may be traded along with Judd. Rowan Jones and Wooden have retired. Braun is on the veterans list now isnt he? We may delist no one really.

Veterans list is the answer. It needs to be done. I'm fairly sure we will be keeping Sampi. I wouldn't mind using four picks in the draft if it can be worked out.

Waite has been injury prone in the past (i'm not sure about last season) but, if we are sure he can stay fit, I think he would be a better option than Kennedy because of his proven ability to contribute at either end of the ground.
