Awesome thread and well done to all contributors:thumbsu:

Interesting to read the the ways that different people have their own coping mechanisms for dealing with the pain of a GF loss.

....and it is painful....especially when most (as I did) expected you guys to win, especially after such a dominant and stellar season.

I still feel the pain of the 2004 GF loss and that was after 3 on the trot (makes me appreciate how lucky I was to witness such a feat).

Hang in there Cats fans.....sure it will be a painful off-season but you should console yourselves with the belief that your side is good enough to give it a real shake for the next 2-3 seasons.:thumbsu:

Don't know how welcome ill be but yeah, bad luck lads. You will be back next year without a doubt and there will be some great battles between us the next few years. :thumbsu:

I think I feel okay, but when I go on BigFooty or start talking about it with someone, or see/hear stuff on the news, all the anger and disappointment bubbles up again...

Doesnt help with idiot fans bleating choke every time you post something. Only club\s supporters I'm willing to cop shit from is Hawthorn. Ab****ely laughable the likes of St Kilda, Bulldogs, Freo supporters among many having a go at us for 'choking'.

Choking in a Grand Final would be the highlight of these club's respective histories. :D

The most painful thing for me was to see the number "89" in our scoreline. AAARGH!!!

I'm beginning to think "someone" has put a curse on us or the "guy" above has it in for us. We spent ages in the dawks (more than enough to win the match comfortaby) forward line and just about every attempt at a score regardless of the player in possession was riddled with error after error. It's human nature, doubt was creeping in and you could see the worry in their faces. Nothing seemed to go right, although we had control of the match the more we wasted our opportunities the more deflated our players got.

Eventually something had to give as the dawks gained more confidence and self-belief after every miss. We lose possession of the ball momentarily, the dawks seize upon this rare mistake with a swift counterattack move and miraculously score. Unf*ckingbeliavable, they barely touched the ball and when they finally get their grubby little hands on it they somehow manage to perfectly steer it through the middle sticks. :( I'm telling there must be supernatural forces working against us, it isn't fair.

Still feel like shit two and a half days on. I felt sick to my stomach most of Saturday (game was early Saturday morning here) and yesterday was crap too after the other team I follow, University of Georgia, lost their damn game too. It's not my weekend to follow sports!

Anyway, I'm pinning all my copes on coming back next year even stronger and more motivated and getting some revenge on the goddamn piss and shit who've given us so much pain over the years.

Funny that... I have an essay to write on why the Japanese were defeated in the Kokoda campaign and I'm actually quite looking forward to writing it.

I think my old man is feeling pretty bad atm.... this was hes 10th loseing Geelong Grandfinal (including night) in a row! He has been to every single one of them and has never seen them win

We were OS last year for the GF. Even though that was great to watch, wouldnt be as good as being there for him.

Need to win next year for him!
