How pissweak is Channel 7?

channel 7 are dogs but i bet top dollar that no one here is surprised

they know that free-to-air viewers that don't have foxtel are still going to watch their coverage, so them, the quality of it does not have any significance

Camera angles were ****ing appalling. Could barely see anything.

They also have a tendancy to show replays as play unfolds so you miss everything.

Terrible coverage.

Totally agree, behind the goal shots when the action is on the wing, cutting away to look at fans or the coaches as the play is going on, two adds everytime there is a goal kicked. I did more yelling at the director than the umpires, channel seven should be ashamed.

Agree - would be seriously pissed if I'd missed my team singing the song and just being able to soak up the atmosphere after a great win.

Nearly as bad as Channel 7 going to the news and missing Norths lap of honor after the 1999 Grand Final. Absolute disgrace.

Rarely is AFL live on FTA. But come Summer, we'll get all the live cricket and tennis we can handle.

Bit of a difference filling 11pm to arse o clock with a cricket match in the sub continent than that stadium down the road, because you know, ratings and all. And tennis, I'm surprised the Aus Open hasn't been fined for all that crime against moths, the RSPCA are weak as!

But yeah, I personally like the Live tag and the game starting at something like 7:10 but the station decides to have a 35min lead in so their actual broadcast is delayed by 20 odd mins. Very patronising to the audience.

This. Thought the zoom in on play was overused today...7 are awful in my opinion, no live footy into SA unless one of the clubs is away, Friday night I can almost see why, but on a Sunday when there is nothing on we get the game at 3 and an hour of footy flashbacks before it!

The director may have been used to doing rugby league or union (or tennis). Did not seem to have a feel for what to play show from the best angles or right distance. Not to mention chopping and changing back and forth during the action.

Um, hello? I said Summer, like cricket in Australia. Shown live into every state be it 9am to 5pm or 2pm to 10pm.

This is the finals, we just saw a great game, no post match, no club song, no analysis.

I take it you must be in one of the flood-ravaged areas at the moment, and are confined indoors. (In which case, my commiserations.)

Because I can think of no other reason why anyone with any mental capacities at all would willingly subject themselves to enduring another half hour of Bruce Macavaney, Dennis Commetti and Captain and Vice-Captain Obvious, Tom Harley and Leigh Matthews.

If not, then you seriously need to get a life.

All they would have done even if the coverage had stayed on would have been to gush about Kirk and Roos (and maybe Goodes and Judd) ad nauseum. They would have gone overboard about Hall v the Swans next week. And maybe about Harvey v Thompson. Then patched it together with 20 (of the 30) minutes of ads, as well as a promo for Fremantle v Geelong next Friday on high rotation.

I, for one, am extremely thankful they pulled the plug.

Change

Channel 7's coverage of the football is getting worse and worse, the idiots running the show think its ok to show crap coverage.

Andy D really needs to address this issue because we need radical change.

Except when the game is in Adelaide, at which time 9 will only show about 2 hours of the day's play (usually the session between lunch and tea for a test).

Live tennis? The same cum rag station delays it for home and away and then pretends that is live when they start the replay.

Live cricket? Yep. But we miss the last few balls of the day to cut to the news, or the first five overs of a ODI as nine play aca.

I wish Foxtel had a lot more money and did the majority of the games.

I prefer it on Free-to-air. At least most people are able to watch it then. If Foxtel was on free-to-air, then it would be great.

seven did alright before the game, but it was a confusing decision after the game to cut to something different. U think u would want people to keep watching 7 for the news, and so continue with the AFL. changing to a cooking show is not something most AFL fans would like to watch in a Sunday afternoon.

I know, I know. Which is why I want all sport, live, and off FTA. Cable sports channels have one priority, sport, whereas FTA channels have commitments to news, current affairs and other BS.
