I hate Vlad and his crew of ass sucking merry men! Money, Money, Money is all they are worried about not the suporters who love the game so much!

well that just about sums them up

$$$$$$$

i understand money is such an integral part of the game, but sometimes the AFL just sells it soul.

Hardly surprising. The AFL is a business and as a business it's sole focus is about $$$. However, let’s see if they do a back flip now due to the negative publicity and let the little fella go.

This is trashing the AFL brand big time !!
What happened to the notion " Your word is your bond" ??
Seeing the AFL is setting themselves up as the " cleanser of all sporting evils " maybe they can add this important aspect to their list

Stalin regime ring a bell?
Bloody unreal they can't sacrifice a couple of tickets for a young fella who has been looking forward to this game more than anything else in the world. Absolute disgrace.

In fairness, they did say the tickets would be subject to availability, but despite that I can't and won't defend an evil organisation like the AFL, who would sell their grandmothers into hard labour for a few extra bucks. Their bottomless greed, if left unchecked, will tear the game apart one day. Wishful thinking maybe, but I hope they really cop it hard over this.

Weren't the tickets given "subject to availability" ?. Their only ***kup was to leave it too late to inform the kids.

Pretty piss poor from to do it only 4 days before the event when Blind Freddie could have told you 2 months ago the game was going to be a sell-out.

True, but whats a couple of tickets in the overall scheme of things.
Bloody disgraceful in that respect.

But obviously the tickets are still available they just have to pay for them now. And as they are a business wouldn't they just claim the price for those tickets as marketing and recruiting costs just as they do with business clients? I could be wrong but I still find it bloody scabby.

You pay $35 for a years worth of Aus Kick sessions.

Thrown in is; a backpack, a footy and a few other bits a pieces as well as two tickets to one of the non ticketed AFL games of the club you support. Now there is whining because they aren't given tickets to quite possibly the biggest game of the H/A season outside ANZAC day. Come on. Aus Kick is an unbelievable deal.

The parents are happy to run to the Herald Sun but heaven forbid they go out and buy a couple of tickets. Evidently it didn't mean enough to there son for them to do that.

Agreed. How much extra do the AFL stand to make from this? Bloody pathetic and if they are going to do this they should have alerted the kids and parents much earlier. A week or so out is disgusting.

1000 free tickets for auskick per game. To me, that is a lot of free tickets each game. I dont understand why the parents are bleating about it, they have been offered an alternative free game.

Interesting to observe Melbourne and bulldogs supporters whining about the AFL being money hungry. If all clubs were self-supporting, the AFL wouldn't have to be so careful with their money.

Speaking to people that are affected, the major reason they are annoyed is because of the little notice that the AFL have given them. People from country Victoria had the whole weekend orgainsed and now have no tickets.

Very very poor.

Tickets are still available and cost about $40 for similar tickets.

yeah good one vlad. piss off a whole heap of kids and their parents way to go to promote the game. what would have happened if these were west sydney auskickers, and their was a Sydney vs ..... @ the SGC and it was a sell out, I'm sure the AFl would find some free tickets for them quite easily.

Go eat another pie

Andrew Demetriou was on 3yAWn just now talking to Neil Mitchell and boasting about the Hawthorn/Geelong game being SOLD OUT weeks in advance in reply to a caller. This caller although I didn't here her from what Neil was saying (without attacking Andy after all 3yAWn must keep in good with the AFL) this woman had kids who got free tickets that had then been taken back by the AFL from as the game was "SOLD OUT". Andrew was boasting how this was the only H&A game at the MCG to be SOLD OUT apart from ANZAC DAY in his smug little way as he told people they must have been mistaken as they called up saying they had just purchased tickets from ticket master.

Of course Andy was laying blame with everyone else and not taking responsibility himself and Neil mentioned they found tickets on the ticket master site as he talked to Andy ..... Funny thing was Neil backed away from challenging Andrew, Mitchell is just sooo soft.

Yep, kids from both country Vic and southern country NSW look forward to these games. A bit hard to completely reorganize your schedule when it's not just a half hour train trip into the ground.

That has to be one of the lowest moves ever pulled by the AwFL. Let the kids go.

It's probably better than sending them to WCEs vs Melbourne at the G. At least if they get to go to the Hawks v Cats they'll see some good footy:)
