How would Daisy be feeling right now

Not at all Premier Pies, but some have done a pretty good character assassination. I can understand the emotion, it's just not fair IMO.

You're entitled to your opinion, but he became fair game when he toyed with the emotions of the kids with his comments in late 2013.

If he was going and had just kept quiet ala Buddy and Goddard there would be elements that make the situation excusable, but in those comments he gave a whole generation of supporters hope when there was none....

I like the inference that if he stayed with us he'd be on minimum wage. Spare us.

Here's my perspective as one of the bitter folk.

I don't think about him. I don't start topics about him. But if he's mentioned I'll give my opinion, which is that I dislike him pretty bloody strongly, and as a Carlton player I wish him every failure.

It makes me laugh when people expect football supporters to view the game in a dispassionate or "understanding" way. "Hey man, it's just how footy is these days. Don't be so bitter and hypocritical maaan. Just let it go duuude."

Hell, I don't even have to be rational if I don't want to. It's footy! Basic, tribal, instinctive and fun.

I save my compassion and understanding for real life and regard Carlton players, particularly this example, with the contempt they deserve. And it's not REAL hatred. It's footy hatred. Pantomime hated.

There is no logic in this, nor do I want there to be. I love Collingwood. I hate Carlton. I take pleasure from their pain and wish them nothing but continued misery. Because it's fun! Lighten up, hand wringers.

Fortunately though, our recruiting is not decided on emotion or by Footy fan sites
Nothing to do with emotion. He's 26(?) at the moment. That means he will be 30 by the time his contract at the scum is up. He is not a KPP, which means our midfield situation would have to be pretty dire if we were to recruit a 30yo wingman regardless of the questionable ankles.
I just can't see our recruiting department going down that road, unless he was somehow displaying 2011 type form.

The last thing I want to do is to get the people here off-side about someone that doesn't play for us anymore but maybe he wasn't sure he was going when he did make those statements.

I believe he would've stayed if we were able to give him the $ he wanted, mick or not.

The club wisely chose not to.

Daisy didn't go to our worst enemy, he went to your worst enemy. Collingwood has 17 enemies all of equal standing.

Do you dislike Luke Ball? He was disloyal to his club. There are a lot of hypocrits around here. Clinton Young came across through FA for a lot more than he was on just like Daisy.

The bolded is a bit of a stretch given the circumstances surrounding Ballys departure from St Kilda. Surely there is a difference between a man leaving for more money and someone who wanted to play consistent best 22 football. Furthermore, Ball didnt lead St Kilda on a merry dance for a year regarding his contract. I think you'll find that Luke Ball would've happily seen his days out at St Kilda (see his reaction to the final siren in the GF replay) if Ross Lyon had allowed him to continue

Don't care what Daisy is feeling, no less than what any other Carlton player is feeling. Dale helped us win a premiership and he'll always be a champ to me. It's a shame to see him in his current state but he'll come good. I just hope Carlton do not.

Ok a couple of points, if I may.

1. 17 Enemies of equal standing! When we have decade after decade of grand finals and epic battles with the Gold Coast Suns, you might have a point.

2. We are discussing a game where men burst through crepe paper, run around a paddock chasing an inflated bladder wrapped in leather, in order to kick it through some sticks. If supporters wish to take a one-eyed view when a player leads on its supporters then walks to an old rival, good luck to them. A footy landscape without hypocritical attitudes based on passion, where St Kilda supporters politely applaud Luke Ball for his good service and supporters don't boo umpiring calls as they may be seen to be negative and hypocritical, seems utterly bland and entirely without purpose.

Go Pies!

Haha. carlton isn't our most bitter enemy:rolleyes: Take a survey of Collingwood supporters. I'll give you any odds carlton are no.1. Your ignorance is astounding on that. It's actually your view that carlton aren't. Check out most Collingwood supporter boards.

Ball and Young both play for my club, why would I be dirty on them? :confused:You should ask St.Kilda and Hawthorn supporters on that one. St.Kilda supporters were certainly filthy on Luke Ball. As a Collingwood supporter, I enjoy that, especially when he helped us beat them to a flag.

I used to like Chri$ Judd at West Coast. I dislike him immensely at carlton. I used to dislike Josh Kennedy at carlton. I now don't mind him at West Coast.

I think you're failing to grasp the concept, hence why you posted what you did.

Daisy played a large part in a day that made me very, very happy. That overrides any hate of any sort.

It doesn't mean I wouldn't prefer him to go about averaging 16 possessions a game and playing in a 7-15 season for the length of his contract, I just struggle to hate anyone that made me so happy.

Same goes for Wellingham, same goes for Agent Malthouse.

We are Collingwood fans we do not care if Ball left the Saints

I got the impression in the last year or so that Daisy no longer really cared about football. It's what he does now to make money, no more. So, I assume he doesn't care whether his club of the moment is top or bottom, he turns up does his job gets paid damn well and for the things that sustain him spiritually that no longer comes from footy.

Like someone else said, why would we dislike Ball or Young when they're at our team? You'd have to ask the Saints and Hawks supporters how they feel about them, I'm guessing it wouldn't be too positive in general.
Same goes for Geelong fans and Ablett or West Coast and Judd, I'm pretty confident most of them weren't that fond of those guys after they left. Imagine Ablett had gone to Hawthorn, or Judd to Freo? Throw in some smart-arse comments before and after they left and you've got Daisy.
If you can't understand the disdain towards Daisy or Carlton you don't really understand Collingwood or footy much for that matter. It may just be business for some players, but us supporters aren't making any money out it.

So you missed the reference to Taz then?

It's all good Carlton and Daisy are the common enemy of the masses here.

That late in the game he knew. I'd be shocked if he didn't know after he did his ankle upon his return to the VFL.

Both Ball and Young were out of favour from their original clubs. - Not a good comparison IMO.
Collingwood and supporters of Daisy stuck by him through his injuries and although it is his right to go after more money, didn't like his reference to retrieving the No.13 from the rubbish tin. Unnecessary and he forgets that a lot of little kids had that number on their backs. Not funny.

Take a survey of Collingwood coaching staff, and ask them which four points they would want more - Carlton's or Gold Coast's? I am tipping they would say both are the same.

I am not talking about internet forums, or supporter boards. I am talking about the club. I agree - Carlton is the worst enemy of Collingwood supporters, but not the club (and not the players). That was my point.

Because you are claiming to dislike someone for their actions, rather than just the fact that it was done to your club. To the previous poster, if he truly disliked 'disloyalty' rather than just the fact that Thomas left Collingwood, then he would dislike 'disloyalty' across all players that showed it.

Many, many, many Collingwood supporters would disagree with this.

Daisy: Hmmmmm, moneys in the bank, couldn't give a toss, I'll be remembered alongside those other Carlton greats, Peter McKenna and Mick McGuane
