I think we all agree that the Lindsay "brochure" development was an unfourtunate incident perpetrated by a few rogue elements of the liberal party.
Unfourtunately there are a few bad apples in every organisation. But you cant tarr an entire organisation with the same brush because of the actions of a minority group who are playing by their own rules. There was very little that the Liberal Party could have done to stop this unfourtunate incident in Lindsay from occuring. However, I think we must all agree that the Liberal Parties response to this incident has been strong and courageous.
Howard has lived up to his nickname of "the man of steel". He has come out an condemed the behaviour of these rogue members of the liberal party. Even if you dislike Howard, I think many posters on here would have alot of respect for the way he has handled this issue in such a speedy and determined manner.
In many ways Howard's tough stance on this issue can be contrasted with the yellow-bellied approach that Kevin Rudd has adopted in relation to the union thuggery. Kevin Reynolds and Joe MacDonald have been engaged in appalling stand-over tactics here in Western Australia for several years. Rudd promised to expel Joe MacDonald from the party over 6 months ago, yet he failed to act on the issue. Rudd just gave the media some spin and then privately told Joe it was "back to business". It took some 6 months later for Rudd to actually act when a media storm blew up in his face over the issue. Rudd is the antithisis of Howard when it comes to issues of party discipline.
Howard has shown alot of courage in dealing with the Lindsay issue. I think all posters on here would agree with that.
