If it is the player who i think you are referring to then yes he is a gun. Did a pre season with Sandy this year and was all set to sign a contract and decided the city wasn't for him. Would prefer to live on the farm and play with his mates. Ardie was stoked with that decision.

Says alot about the character and the type of person he is.

He is a gun though and is way to good to be playing inthat league.

Yeah thats the one mate, i remember reading something about it in the paper a while back, won the league medal.

Raiders are chasing hard, the cheque book is extremely fat.

The mighty Osborne Cats have done it again.

Unbelievable come from behind win.

It shows what good locals will do.

Arceri,
is that a flippant comment on the locals, or a backhanded swipe at their opposition...?
Rumours are the season could well have been an expensive one for the Spiders, question as to whether or not they can back things up next year?
By the way, who will the big movers be next year, Holbrook obviously is one, & also hear that Culcairn & Walla might have an influx of talent from other nearby leagues, any truth in this anyone..?

It is true that Osborne have very good locals, but they also have very good recruiting and a good amount of $$$$.
I guess if you add it all together with good discipline and character, they are a very good club.
Howlong - it would take a lot of dollars to attract recruits there to put up with the local crowd - I wonder how the locals commiserated after the GF, with violence probably?
Holbrook will bounce back as their cheque book doesn't stay shut for long.
Culcairn? Who are they chasing? They need an injection of discipline.
Lets hope BB Saints can snare a big name coach to give them a real boost - maybe Grant Thomas would be interested, Kosi could set it up.

Pretty fair call Hornet68.

Culcairn is shopping big time at North Albury with Abele having a list of Pierri, Matt Murray, McLoughlan, and D. Lambert.

Marcus Osborne has been mentioned at the BB Saints for mega bucks.

Walla have got a few high profile recruits from other leagues on the radar, they are despearate for a ruckman and a key forward.

McGlynn will get them going out at the grassies.

Manny Edmuinds has made his first big signing, Albury veteran Jez masterson will be pullling on the boots for the Brookers in 2007. :thumbsu:

Will be a few more following Jezza out to Holbrook, stay tuned.

Expect Jindera to announce Corey 'Hoota' Whittaker as their new coach for 2007.

Anyone else got some goss?? I'm getting sore fingers:D

whittaker don't no how he will go. I have not seen him for a few years so he must have changed if he is going to coach. Who else has jindera spoken to.

Anyone heard about Joyce and oka dickens going to assist rand-walbundrie??
On some big time money. Looks like they have spent all their dollars on these two, not much left over for any new recruits.

This might rock a few people but another rumour doing the rounds while i was back in town on the weekend, was that Fowler is a big big chance to join Holbrook in 07. Could have something to do with new coach??
;)

After some information about the hume league thirds, inparticular howlong. Who were their gun players this year, any potential ovens and murray players?

Howlong did not field a Thirds team which is a bit surprising for the largest town in the league, especially as every other team did.

Is there any news on the BB saints, how are they looking for next year, I would have thought they might have had a few more wins this year?

Are there any other Players of note coming into the HFL?

Yep. They tried for a number of higher profile playing coaches, but couldn't gey any. Corey was the last man standing.

That would not be the first he has been last man standing I'm thinking!!!!!

What's happened to Adam Mathrews and Holbrock. Is he still there?

Is Robbie MacKinley still playing in the ones?

What do you Hume league guys think of this?
As a CDFL person, I think its clear from what I've written below what I think of it.

The Coreen and District league is in crisis after the Murray Magpies won their appeal to join the Hume league this week.
It's sure to be a decision that doesn't make many people outside Magpie Park happy, considering the Hume league didn't want them and the Coreen league couldn't afford to lose them (note I didn't say we wanted them, we just couldn't afford to lose them).
Hume will have 11 clubs and Coreen 6 next year.
Magpies actions are very disappointing for all Coreen league people who were involved in giving a brand new club a chance to play footy eight years ago.
I'm sure a lot of people are feeling disappointed, angry, and used.
At least the league will be a happier, if smaller place, next year.

Would a two division structure work, possibly location based to cut down travel as much as possible but then again travel to play is better than no play at all?

The major problem with Magpies coming in, is that they have to re-establish junior teams, which they haven't had for a couple of years.
Lets hope this doesnt affect the ability of BB Saints, Jindera , Howlong who are all close to the Magpie area, to field junior teams. This year it was really great to have the new merged teams with 4 footy team on field.s
Thurgoona would be a better fit for the Hume tham M Magpies.

What is the attraction for the Magpies in the HFL, is it just the bigger league?
What is the difference in football standard? Have not played in CDFL and only spent 12 months in HFL so not too sure?
I agree that the Magpies will have a large impact on the ability of the 3 surrounding clubs to attract/retain juniors and field sides, as a lot of kids from the bush will play footy where their school mates from town play.
Thurgoona in the HFL would also be a good fit, are they up to the same level though?
