i think the result from saints v culcairn showed the huge gap from top to bottom.it doesn't get any easier for the saints with games against osbourne and jindera.it will a long end to there season.
Sad state of affairs not just for their club but also the league when results like this occur. Time to get Div. 2 Hume league (or whatever you want to call it) up and running NEXT YEAR and finish the debate.:mad::mad:

Agree with everyone's thoughts on this subject - i must be missing something though as the NSWAFL and VCFL etc just don't seem to be listening. I have a brilliant idea - why don't we go back to the original shape of the leagues as they were 15 years ago!!!. After 50 years of stability and teams playing others of similar size and locations the authorities thought it would be a brainwave to chuck everyone into one league. This is the situation in the picola as well, which is also a shambles with massive gulfs between top and bottom and 18 teams. Why not go back to old tungamah, picola, farrer, coreen and hume leagues, which is where all these suggestions and reviews are starting to head now anyway.
Coreen league - CDHBU, colly, rennie, jeril, berrigan, finley (if they want to go this way), bb saints, wahgunyah, RWalbundrie and crows. 10 teams.
Hume - howlong, walla, jindera, lockhart, osborne, magpies (if they continue), henty, culcairn, holbrook. 9 teams
Tungamah - Tungamah, Dookie, Shep East, Katandra, Katamatite, Benalla All Blacks and can't think of who else used to be in here.
Picola - blighty, deni rovers, mathoura, yarraweah, Waaia, Katunga, Wungyhu, Picola, Strathmerton. 9 teams

I am a bit short on a complete list from further west but this is somewhere near where we are heading back to isn't it? Correct me if i'm wrong.

Was Bomber Hilton injured on weekend or did he even play??? Nothing in goals or in Doggies best, as leading goal kicking and I read Holbrook lost Lanyon early thought he may of bagged a few when the Jindera machine smashed them by 60:confused::confused:

was talking to someone in the know at lavington yesterday he was telling me the Adam Butler was pissed of with Timba the Tosser's comments about him in the newspaper last week, and had all but signed with none other then Culcairn (massive coup if true)

another week in the hume league and another weekend of massive scores, i wonder how many of the jindera and osborne boys really enjoyed their footy today! at least the lockhart culcairn game was a contest, bet the lions would not mind not playing them again as they seem to match up well.

Yeah I was at the game and lockhart were outplayed by culcairn but if the demons can put four good quarters together instead of three they could be beating the culcairns instead of losing by a goal. The lockhart boys really lacked a target at full forward without big andrew hill with blokes like fruen and klemke taking care of the long balls coming in. Nathan mcpherson proved he is a class player this afternoon to anyone who was there. Culcairn seem to have top spot locked up now barring a disaster. Any thoughts on the lockhart osborne game next week?

Looking at the results over the last few weeks it is clear that the League has a huge problem that needs to be fixed quickly. One sided results this time of year are common, but sides scoring 1 point and 3 points for a whole game of (allegedly) reasonable class senior football is a bit sad. Hope someone has an answer.

well poor henty and the saints.does this say anything for the state of hume footy.it's not good and should be fixed soon before any more clubs fold.Osborne should be in farrer league for a start.there 2's would beat some hume league seniors.

just a few injuires from the osborne v saints.

Osborne midfielders bruised feet.(from amounts of kicks)
full forward sunken chest and bruised hands from bullet like
passes.
backline flu cold simptons from standing still.
wingers got leather poison.
BB Saints goal umpire stiff neck looking up so often.

Umpires sore arms from so many centre ball ups.

Div 1 - Lock, Osb, Hent, Holb, How, Walla, Jindera, Cul and Thurgoona

Div 2- RWT,BB,MM,CDHBU, BC's,Coly, Berigan, Jeril, Rennie

simple, makes sense!!

Just a few little problems with that plan:
1. Thurgoona don't want to go into the Hume League.
2. Rennie are trying to get out of the Hume League.
3. Jerilderie & Berrigan are happy in the Picola League and have no interest in travelling to Coleambally.
As Thurgoona, Berrigan & Jerilderie are currently in leagues controlled by the VCFL, NSWACTAFL has no jurisdiction over tham at all, and can't make them go anywhere they don't want to.

Premiership Odds:
Does anyone want to start a book for this years flag.

Judging by recent form I would go for the following:-

Jindera and Osborne 3/1
Culcairn 4/1
Lockhart 12/1
Holbrook 40/1
Howlong 80/1

Anyone else 500/1+

The people in charge dont want to mess with the Wagga leagues. SNSWAFL have shown that, the Montgomery report has shown that. Nth Wagga have shown that Farrer clubs cannot realisticly compete with Riverina clubs, so any kind of merger is out for now. Taking these two clubs out of the Farrer league would root the league and the remaining clubs, two of which, Marrar and Rivcoll, have no existing juinior structure.
Both TRYC and CAK have expressed interest in joining the HFL, for a number of reasons. Unfourtunatley for them, untill the Hume FL sorts itself out, it is in everyones best interest for them to stay where they are.

Whats wrong with putting Osborne, Lockhart and possibly Culcairn and/or Henty in the Farrar.:confused::confused:

Jindera are only third favourite because of the massive advantage if you finish in the top 2 and they only need 1 bad game out of 4 to get kicked out of the comp

It pains me to do this being a Culcairn fan, but I'd have the board as follows..

Jindera $1.80
Culcairn $2.50
Osborne $3.00

Got Osborne at overs on the basis Cul have beaten them the last 4 starts, and with a full strength Jindera side on the park I think they'd struggle to win.. Having seen all sides play this year I think the dogs look the most dangerous and seem to play four quarters consistently, usually blowing sides away in the last quarter.. Pains me to say it, but I think Jindera, with or without the double chance, are near certainties to win it this year..

Hello gents and Ladies??

I'm from Canberra and don't hear to much on what is going on in your league. I have taken intrest in what your saying about jindera I think there is a bloke playing for them by the name of James Quarmby who played in our districts comp who went very well he also turned his back on a big $'s to play for Belconnen.
I'm wondering how he is going. Can you help??

know the bloke well, he is flying at the moment easily one of the best players in the side also is one of the most genuine blokes going around and has fitted into the club fantastically
