1 point.

That's the cruellest part.

With 5 minutes to go, I really thought you guys were going to overrun us.

I thought we deserved to win today. We led basically all game, but you guys came at us and I thought you would get us.

There's no switch you can flick to feel OK about this kind of loss. There's no spin you can put on it that allows you to be content with the outcome.

All I can offer in the way of consolation is my utmost respect for your side. Even before the win sunk in, I felt for guys like Hall and Goodes and the rest of your mob.

1 point - what's the difference between winning and losing? Is it just luck?

We were on fire in the first half, and I thought we could have shut the gate. But the way you guys fought back and nearly rolled us was incredible.

I'm just relieved that we managed to hang on. But I definitely feel for you guys.

Keep your chins up. See you next year.

Yeah I agree, was a great game but you just pipped us...then again so many things could have gone different ways during the game to completely change the outcome...it was entertaining though, what a rush at the end!

Good game guys. Comiserations on losing by a point!

The 2 best teams over the past 2 years were playing today and to think the recent games have been so close is a testament to how strong and superior our teams are to the rest of the competition.

Hopefully see you on the last day in September next year

Yeah. You guys did deserve it in the end cos you guys lead for most of the match. But in saying that, we should've beaten you in Round 15! =] [yes still holding that grudge] hehe...

1 point is worse than 4 points. It kills me, we were SO close in making it back to back, so our situations are different but sort of similar in a way to you guys.

Goodes and Nick crying. I burst into tears, seeing them cry. It was soo mooving. I love them both. :)

Anyways, congratz to you. :p we'll beat you next year! :D

I am a bulldogs supporter who has no real strong feelings for either side. But in the last few minutes of the game i was all pumped with adrenalin and my heart was beating at 100 miles per hour.

Sorry about the final outcome, Swans supporters. I understand that losing a grad final by one point must be the most heartbreaking feeling you can have in sports.

To the westcoast fans on this thread, congrats for the win and ever bigger congrats for the gracious comments!:thumbsu:

Which Nick?

I am going to watch the game i think tonight. At the game, after the siren i just sat there and didn't look up at all. I just really felt for the players who gave it their all..

i sorta dont feel sorry for them because we felt it last year.

its hard but you gotta push through it. last year i was depressed for a month. and still kept thinking about how close we were every day. now i can blank that outa my mind and enjoy premiership glory!

No one cares if you feel sorry for them or not. You don't have to feel sorry for them, you won..

Nick Davis! It was Nick Davis! I was so moved by them both. I swear, if you watch it right after the siren... Goodes looked like he has been shot. He fell onto the ground immediatley. That moment, it made the whole situation 100000 times worse. Davis crying, omg, it wasn't right to see him cry but after he is human. I Love Davis! But it tore my insides up. Never seen them soo hurt... and soo.. soo... :(

Oh god, i don't know if i'll be able to watch it.. not with Nick crying. As most of you know Nick is probably my favourite player.. i think that'll just send me over the line. The visuals of Ted i have in my mind are already bad enough, i don't think they'll be going away for a long time.

Yeah, i realised Nick's your favourite player for a very long time! :D

A warning, yes once you see them crying, that image will be etched in your mind forever. I can see Goodes crying, and the emotions showed it on his face. Thinking about it now, it's making my eyes watery. Nick Davis, he was devastated and shattered. I can see Davis crying and is also accompanied by Roos. For a moment, roosy looked like he was about to kiss Davis' forehead. I'm not so sure, but have you seen Roosy cheering up the boys? He is such a great coach.

I can still see Ted on the floor and looking half dead after kicking it out of bounds. The images of Monty upset... its... soo... bad... trust me, those images will never ever be erased. :(

I feel for them so much. Even Barry Hall.. his game was terrible.. probably worst on ground for the Swans, i really do feel for him. Today at the thing down at South Melbourne he stood at the back and you could see he was trying to stay out of it, then when he was called up to speak i could have vomited for him. He's gonna have a tough 6 months.. the 'what if''s are going to be going through his head like crazy. Lukey i felt so bad for him. Especially seeing after the game me and my sister went through all the players and we said Lukey was total rubbish and we were like "DID HE EVEN PLAY?" and then when we called home we relised that he had got injured.. it must have been so frustrating for him sitting there, not being able to do anything.

Really? I was pretty pissed at Barry Hall as he couldn't contain his frustration, but still do feel for him. And it is probably his worst on ground performance for the Swans. Actually, what about LRT? but he kicked that handy goal, but was badly outplayed by the WCE players.

After you told me about Bazza standing behind the group, i reckon he feels bad. He shouldn't feel bad, it's all over. So how were the players? Faces told it all? ergh... how did Monty's face look like?

Yeah, i was really mad at Barry, especially on the walk back from the MCG. I could have smacked him in the face. I felt he really let us down, which i still do. He needed to stand up and he didn't. I expected so much more from him. At the same time though, i felt horrible for him. You can imagine how much he would have wanted it, but nothing he did worked.

Their faces at the South Melbourne thing this morning? Majority of them you could clearly see they had a big night. They drank, i ate.. haha. Chocolate was my comfort last night. Players like Leo and that though, you could see the disappointment in their faces. In public they have to be positive, looking to next year and that but you know that behind close doors it would be a very different story.

I could smack Barry too, but i guess it also wasn't his day. Barry missed some marks, and when he marked he would usually give a hand pass and it will turn out horribly wrong. But one thing, was when he marked it and passed it to Goodes who then kicked the goal. That was probably one positive from Hally.

Drinking beer? Its' always their way to celebrate, but they should celebrate anyway. Played pretty well but not to their very best. Ahaha...chocolate. I lost my apetite when i had dinner. I only ate a bit and left the table. Our poor swannies! I'm glad they tried to cheer the crowd up, i wonder how they feel inside. It must be terrible, especially Goodes. The emotions were bad on the ouside, i wonder how it would feel like in the inside! :(

Also a good way of drowning your sorrows. I don't think i'd want to know how they really felt.. well, i probably already do know seeing alot of us would be going through something similiar.
