Bond has been a disappointment since joining the crows. he gets little of the ball despite the fact he has been in the system for two years.
Surely its time to see whether we can use him in a position which uses his aerobic and anaerobic capacity and a position which is not currently used by the club but should be in todays football environment.

I want to see him become a tagger or run with player. Surely he can do that in the twos on some of the better player there eg Snelling, Wigg, Sinor etc. If he can reduce their influence put him in the AFL team for the last few matches to see if he can replicate his form there. We just need to see if we can use his strengths in a more effective manner.

Whilst we are there time for Gollant to go back to see if he can perform better there, He looks stale to me and in the short time he went back against South he looked good. Time is running short for his reanissance.

He can actually find plenty of the footy and adds plenty of defensive and tackle pressure when he's played in the midfield just like he did at NAB League level captaining the GWV Rebels but alas he's rarely been given that opportunity by the brain trusts we call coaches who continue to play top up Jay Boyle in there...it's not as though Hugh Bond isn't a big bodied mid physically either. A coach with half a brain would have sent him to Adam D''Alioa who was destroying the Crows both in the centre and at stoppages against WWT.

Played midfield in SANFL round 1 against the Panthers where he had a good game, probably his best since he was drafted and then gets immediately banished to the back pocket ever since....it's nonsensical.

And how long have we both been suggesting give Gollant a shot in defence, a role he's not unfamiliar with at the Calder Cannons where he played wing/half back exclusively. Our draftee development is at the very least questionable.

I actually thought Bond looked quite composed in the backline against WWT, but agree that he should be tried again in the midfield like his first game this year.

Our development and positioning of our talents in the SANFL is truly bizarre.

Fogarty at full back
Curtin at Full back
Bond in back pocket
Pedlar at half forward (2024 until recently)
Cook at half back

Like most of our deep defenders in the SANFL the last couple of years Hughey gets sunburn on the roof of his mouth watching the footy sail over their head.
They put him in the middle for one quarter, and he got 4 clearances. Give him time there over top-up and has beens.
