The advantage rule. It is usually paid after a whistle is blown and opposition players have stopped. Why should the player with the ball get this extra advantage ??

yup - from the beginning we are told to stop when we hear the whistle

EXCEPT when its advantage - wot a joke - no wonder people laff at AFL

I would like to see kick ins from a behind taked before the goal umpire waves his flag. This would allow less time for teams to set up their zone defence and make them go man on man.

Footy is at its best when it is man on man.

"leave the rules alone!!"

Well - there's no team sport in the world that seems to do that. The AFL tinkers but with good intent and has the preseason cup to do it in. The Rugby codes especially Union are forever rewriting their rule books, basketball did a lot of rule changes to become popular, soccer has altered its game significantly with banning the tackle from behind and has to invent new balls to make heading safer, cricket tinkers away etc.

Umps are banned from inventing/guessing free kicks from a ruck contest.
Excuse me but the frees that are paid are usually there.
Umpires don't invent or guess free kicks.
You are full of excuses. Stuff that I hear all the time, especially when the person who makes these excuses up, have no knowledge of the rules.
