HA HA Serious? we don't even need to use inactive posters. I am sure we can all gather 40 active posters for the match.
The context of the discussion was referring to 1st year and 2nd year players.

Danoz as stupid as it sounds the sim throws up different results on different computers.
Oh, I think I see what you are getting at. The whole thing needs to be simmed from one computer? Because you download the program, don't you. Ah. That buggers that up then.

And from memory it stuffs up the stats tracking. Not an issue with Broken around but when I simmed previously I had to post the stats file straight from the sim around because there wasn't someone as sad dedicated as him.

Even if a simmer was not team affiliated, there are plenty reasons for bias. For example, if a simmer was a Bombers player, they would have had to at least sim 100 different versions to get the Demons to win the last game.

No, I think we should look at someone who is trustworthy, not which teams they should or should not sim.

I also think the games should be posted on a Sunday night, with an actual set time. This way, you actually have more people attend the live simming, and you don't end up with a situation where you're at your computer for about 2 hours, refreshing the page, when you actually have stuff to do.

I don't see why Logger can't just sim the games, once the team has been posted, and then if he's too busy, get someone else to post the games.

2 accounts I've seen this happen; Rivalry round when all the people who were doing special commentary, got the results early, and when I was on the podcast with ClarkeM.
Without being rude but if you're sitting at your computer refreshing for 2 hours when you got stuff to do then you need to manage your priorities better. Alternatively if you then plan your life around the comp so you can be online at a set time then I refer you to my original point.

Plus the "why doesn't he just sim as soon as he gets the teams" argument is removed because it can be a giant pain in the ass to sim the games. Running them and making all the positional changes means it can take up to two hours some times.

Thus its better to have the loosely defined "Sunday night" situation because it grants the simmer, someone who is a volunteer and gets zero, a degree of flexibility as to when they can slot that time in.

Ljp86 mentioned this in this post. But suggested a veteran v rookie game instead. To build on this, veterans 4+ seasons, rookies 1-3 seasons? Gives a similar number of active posters I'd imagine.

Also, I suggested earlier this season the simming and/or posting duties changing slightly. My suggestion of spreading the games over the weekend, and having different posters for each night, appeared to be howled down. I still think it could work though. But the idea of having a few game posters could work either way, could mean Logger could have every second week off, for instance, or if we decided to keep the off-season shorter, he could have a few extra weeks off. Broadcast rights ;) Could also mean you could separate the simmer simming his own game. Remove bias possibility for good?
The problem is that form is taken into account with the sim, so that if more than one simmer simmed games during the season then there would be inconsistencies in the results.

It would also mean that at least two people would need to go through the soul-destroying task of entering at least 260 names with varying and illogical applications of grammar, capitalisation and the English language.

Get ****ed you ungrateful swine Happy to help.

When I simmed the state of origin minus the posting of up to date states a couple seasons ago, I simmed all games as soon as I received the team lineups. Was easier for me. But yes, pre-season competition is much easier to do that sort of thing rather a 17 round home & away season.

Weren't worried about team changes?

I was exaggerating that part, but my point was, well I can only speak for myself, I prefer to know when to check in and see the results asap or when the game is posted.

Also, I don't really get your second paragraph. Whether he does it now, or whether it's done later, it's still a "giant pain in the ass" and will still "take up to two hours". But, that's fine, that's not really what I have a problem with.

I'm fine with loosely defining Sunday night, up to a point. Surely on a Sunday morning, Logger or whoever can go, hey, I'm gonna sim around 8pm, or even like 6pm, hey, I'm gonna post the results in a couple of hours.

Surely that's doable?

$10 says Logger is to busy waking up in a pool of vomit, hooker blood and beer to bother coming on here to state when they'll be posted.

Why not just keep the website open on your computer from 7pm onwards?
Or install tapatalk, set up notifications and subscribe to the match thread. Bings me whenever someone posts in the thread. Then turn it off when the match starts. Simple.

Id suspend the jet permenantly.
**** I dislike posters like you. No standing in the league, so you just have a crack at the easy targets in the league to get in with the big boys. TJ has added more to this league than you could dream of at this point, and it would take an established poster who has seen his mishaps to have a go.

Put your head down and earn your stripes.

There's way too much irony in this post for it to be real ;)

Is this directed at me?

This still requires me to suspend whatever I'm doing and checking my computer/phone.

Which is pretty much what I've been doing.

And who the hell wants to get "binged" for a match thread? *shudders*

Whatever bud. You have a problem, I offered a solution. Build a bridge and get the **** over yourself. Stop acting like your 12.
