Take note everyone, think twice about expressing your opinion on the Colts thread lol.

Looks like Rodgers is set for Denver if he leaves and I agree that Wilson might want a location a bit more glamorous than Indy.

I'm just glad to hear that we are actually looking for a QB.

The Athletic's Bob Kravitz said it would be "virtually impossible" for the Colts to bring back Carson Wentz in 2022.

Kravitz, a columnist who has covered the Colts for many years, said Wentz is "as good as gone" before his $15 million base salary becomes full guaranteed in March. The refusal to commit to Wentz by head coach Frank Reich, general manager Chris Ballard, and team owner Jim Irsay have made it "impossible" for the team to hang on to Wentz for the 2022 season, Kravitz said. Wentz's refusal to be vaccinated against COVID-19 may have played a factor in the team souring on the QB, Kravitz said. His COVID-related absence during preparations for a critical late-season game against the Raiders didn't sit well with the team. "The Colts can’t afford to run it back with Wentz, who never inspired all that much confidence of his teammates and his bosses during his time in Indy. Bring him back and you’re courting full-scale disaster," Kravitz said. The Colts won't have an easy time finding a team desperate enough to absorb Wentz's contract this offseason.

Kenny Moore: I was at a table full of Colts at Pro Bowl and wondered why we were there

Posted by Josh Alper on February 23, 2022, 11:40 AM EST

The Colts went into the final weekend of the regular season with a chance to make the playoffs by beating the Jaguars, but they wound up losing in Jacksonville and watching the postseason unfold without them.
With their schedule wide open, the Colts were able to have a lot of representation at the Pro Bowl. They had six players in Vegas for the game — guard Quenton Nelson didn’t take part — and cornerback Kenny Moore said that seeing all of those players at a postseason all-star game left him wondering why the team wasn’t one of the seven AFC teams who kept playing beyond Week 18.
“We were eating breakfast and it was a table full of Colts,” Moore said, via the Colts Official Podcast. “And I’m just like, why are we here? . . . There was another time when we were taking pictures after Saturday’s practice — it was the last practice before we go to the game. And we took a group picture and I was just like, dang, we have all this talent.”
Many would point to quarterback Carson Wentz and word is that they’ll be in the market for a new quarterback after trading for the former Eagle last year. That’s an obvious area to upgrade, but another year of results failing to measure up to the talent on hand would certainly lead to more significant changes as the Colts try to find a way to avoid more big reunions at exhibition games.

The Colts do not have a first-round pick due to their trade for Wentz and are sending their second-rounder to Washington in exchange for the Commanders’ second-round pick and their 2022 third-round pick. They will also receive Washington’s 2023 second-rounder if Wentz plays 70 percent of the snaps in 2022 and a third-round pick if Wentz fails to meet that threshold.

wow christmas has come early how we were able to get anything js nothing short of a miracle.

happy days

Your happiness will soon be gone when you look at the FA QBs available, im thinking Matt Ryan is a chance now tho, so much cap space, no other team capable of taking on his contract.

Can imagine it be like a salary dump trade so colts get ryan and 3rd round for colts 5th rounder.

When it comes to Carson Wentz, the Colts were very motivated sellers. The Commanders, in turn, were very motivated buyers. The end result shouldn’t be a major surprise.

It was obvious that the Colts were done with Wentz.

Zak Keefer of TheAthletic.com addresses some of the dynamics regarding the Wentz situation. He writes that the issues arose before the 2022 season began. Over the course the season, the concerns increased.

Per Keefer, some concluded that Wentz displayed “a lack of leadership, a resistance to hard coaching and a reckless style of play.” Frankly, these are exactly the concerns that undermined Wentz’s time with the Eagles.

That’s why coach Frank Reich’s advocacy for Wentz was so surprising. Reich knew the concerns. Reich, as he said last week in Indianapolis, stuck his neck out for Wentz. But Reich was smart enough to pull his head back into the shell and not pin his career on pushing for a second season for Wentz in 2022.

When Keefer explains that the “Colts’ brass simply didn’t trust [Wentz] to be the franchise quarterback moving forward,” the lack of trust begins with owner Jim Irsay. Wentz knew that; he reportedly requested a meeting with Irsay to “clear the air.” Although Irsay declined, he had a pretty good excuse. He was out of town. Per Keefer, the two men eventually spoke.
