Zach a decent chance to play and confirmation this was his first concussion.

"The docs conducted a cognitive test on him today, which he actually passed, but that doesn't mean he's guaranteed to play this week," Essendon football manager Dan Richardson said. All of the signs are positive and we'll just monitor how the week progresses."

Richardson hosed down concerns about Merrett's long-term health, denying reports the 22-year-old has suffered three concussions – last week, one in the JLT Community Series and another in an intraclub – in the past eight weeks.

"I've heard those reports myself and that's not correct. Aside from the weekend a couple of incidents we had were head knocks, but they weren’t concussions," he said.

"One was actually more a migraine, which he does get from time to time. We need to be clear that it’s not three concussions in the short space of time that some media outlets are reporting."

Denying brain injury. Concerning.

How is this concerning?
For the players' wellbeing. Several other pro leagues have already tread this path and the AFL (clubs) seems hellbent on going their own way rather than learning from others' mistakes.

From a fantasy perspective, **** it, if Zerrett gets on the park and averages 120 for the season, great.

I would have thought clarifying that previous occasions weren't concussions was the opposite of concerning. From what I can see they've been really careful with his health and erring on the side of caution, so much so the more I think about it the more I think they'll give him the week off.

Jackson Trengove out with a cracked shoulder for at least two weeks for anyone who cares

It's potentially good for English - Trengove was taking a few ruck contests. Though this week English's issue was not getting opportunities to score as much as it was taking them - and chest marks for that matter. Still if Trengove is out he probably can't be dropped - would leave Roughead to ruck alone

The second tweet tells me Langdon will be straight back into the team when recovered. No loss of fitness because he can still run. In my estemeed opinion, I highly doubt he'll miss the whole 4 weeks.

He was putrid in the first half, much better second half though

Yeah, I'd hold if you have him

Could be a good downgrade option though for whom who don't have him (like me)

With Greene rumoured to be out again, I'm gonna upgrade Langdon to premo and bring him back in 3 weeks time.

With Smith, Hurley and Duncan under clouds I need to strengthen my scoring, or fall further behind in overall.

Medical room: Forward/midfielder Chad Wingard is in doubt with a hamstring injury sustained in the win against the Swans. The six-day break could be too tight.

Hinkley saying in his presser that Chad came back on is a positive, but given the short break, playing a lesser quality opponent, and Chad's history with hamstring issues, I think we'll play it safe at selection tomorrow night.

Hope I'm wrong though, because I've already got Sicily out in the forwards this week.
