Regarding the north practise match- I was listening on the way home.

Sen reported that they heard from Hawthorn regarding taylor and said that he was ok. Didn't say what it was.

Brad Sewell getting X rays, suspected broken collarbone :(

How long on the sidelines if this is the case?

Depends how bad, weeks or months.:(

While I'm that desperate for good news on the injury front, I'd prefer to rely on counsel from a fortune cookie than rely on SEN.

I'll believe it when it comes from a reputable source.

Sewell will be out for 2-3 months IMO in order to do proper rehab.

Dont fret folks, lucky we have Josh Kennedy to put into the midfield mix.

It seems our injury curse has followed us into 2010. Another year of lost opportunity on the horizon.:thumbsdown:

Hi guys

First post, and as you could probably guess by my username, you guys probably know a hell of alot more about this game than me.

Considering the ruck situation at the club, would the Taylor injury not be more of a probelm than the Sewell one? Sewell is a gun, but surely we have enough midfield depth to cover him until he gets back?

Be nice..

Have more respect when you come onto opposition boards. This is an injury thread about a player suspected to be out for quite a while, then you give a sanctimonious little lecture about 'what we should have done'.

It's called trolling. And for that you cop a card.

Yes, this is a typical post from someone trying to restore faith, read the rest if you can be bothered.

Remember guys, there is no I in TEAM (Corny, yet true). Yes we may have lost Sewelly, but we have one of the strongest midfields in the comp. We can handle it.

And for Taylor, although he was our number 1 ruckman - Renouf gets more game experience, and we can either have Skipper as #2, or throw Dowler in there. You know why? Pace. Without lanky Tails, we are a faster team. It's not going to show, but we will be. If we have Dowler or Skipper in ruck, right there are two more versatile players than Taylor.

Naive at best.

Mitchell/Sewell/Hodge/Lewis - a better group of inside mids doesn't exist.
Burgoyne/Bateman/Young/Rioli - try stopping that bunch of runners.
Franklin/Roughead - hands down the most potent forward line in the business.

Backline isn't great at negating, but when the zone is functioning (ie few injuries, good level of fitness), the ball never gets back there anyway.

Now bugger off and lurk on your own board.

Amusing, no ruck mentioned, and you've got all the if's buts and maybe's covered. Tripe.

Welcome KiwiHawk.
I think you are absolutely correct.
Sewell's loss will be huge but we definitely have more depth in that area, not that we have anyone of his calibre to replace him, but losing Taylor could have been a catastrophe.
I hope SEN has their facts correct for once.

Rucks are generally the least skillful players. Only a handful have any genuine skill.

2008 showed how superior our best players are. We have lost a few since, but the core remains. Now piss off back to the Scum board.
