Lol, I wanted Trump to lose.
I don’t go in the politics threads because they end up in shit fights and I’m trying to avoid that.
Plus these threads are just big one lefty wankfest filled with some of the worst posters on Big Footy.
As for me posting today, pretty big event happening today has sparked my interest.
As I said I wanted Trump to lose, but reading the bullshit spruked by lefty numpties on here needed some correction.
But just how bad are the Democrats, Harris and their lefty policies that they’ve been caned by a criminal? Maybe start looking inward rather than blaming others.
mate now this is a long chat but re China..cmon they are playing the long game and slowly but surely moving towards wanting global economic, political and military dominance. south china sea, belts and roads and the strategic acquisition of key infrastructure when the loan inevitably fails, ruthless underhanded tactics in picking up assets around the world (from existing aussie residential real estate they shouldnt be buying), to african mines with strategic/critical minerals to the south pacific by 'incentivising' countries - or at least the leader - to grant them access.

Blissfully ignorance thinking China re the good guys. Trump winning empowers Xi (as he will see Ukraine surrendering occupied land over coming mths) and I expect Taiwan to be captured within the Trump presidency. US response - nothing. Does China then stop there and be happy with taking Taiwan and HK or do they spread further out - perhaps to other very strategic assets in Asia Pacific that may have huge amts of land including minerals and agriculture
VERY different having US on our side for war compared to tariffs - cant compare.
The reason I am manly upset about Trump is the global impact on NATO (disbanded?), Ukraine, Taiwan and the cascading impact all of these have as Trump goes isolationist.
Funny thing is...under how this are currrently going China was about to be drastically weakened over the next 10-20 years due to a rapidly aging popn (1.4b -> 800m end of this century), huge amt of debt at many levels and asset bubbles for a still developing nation that were likely to blow.
Trump winning is the worst possible result re China and their potential dominance going forward inc impact on Australia

I think most people worldwide are tired of being hounded by the woke movement as is evident by the successes of the right in elections around the world, and apart from the extreme dumb****ery of far right policies, my political leanings are unashamedly to the right, but regardless, never would I have voted for a POS campaigner like Trump.
And herein lies part of the problem
I've been labelled a lefty, a communist, red etc etc since I first started posting here
Yet I've never voted labor or green in my life
I just really ****ing hate trump, and I fear if he does in fact win it's going to be a train crash for a lot democracies
i thimk many of us in the same boat. right of centre naturally but just cant comprehend Trump getting in. Both Aussie parties so centrist relative to Republicans there is no comparison between the countries from a political perspective

BISBEE – As far back as March 2023, Lori Zucco helped her boss, Cochise County Attorney Brian McIntyre, obtain nominating petition signatures in his effort to stand for reelection in November 2024.
In fact, most candidates for countywide office – including McIntyre – began their campaigns in 2023.
But an unexpected legal challenge filed this April against McIntyre’s candidacy resulted in the longtime county attorney being disqualified by judicial order from seeking reelection.
Public records show Zucco, who serves as McIntyre’s chief criminal deputy county attorney, filed a Statement of Interest to run for her boss’s job just a few hours before the lawsuit against McIntyre was initiated.
Zucco then handily beat back a challenger in the Republican primary in July, with both running as write-in candidates.
This General Election, however, brought a Democratic challenger in Deputy Public Defender Scott Eckstein, who announced his candidacy just a few weeks after it was clear McIntyre was out of the race. Like Zucco, Eckstein had to secure his party’s nomination as a write-in in July
Eckstein has spent the last few months drawing attention to the public’s lack of understanding of the County Attorney’s role as well as the huge chunk of the county’s budget the office receives.
He also garnered public attention with a strategy which connected Zucco to some of the more controversial choices made by her boss, including the office’s handling of election related controversies with the Board of Supervisors and how juveniles are prosecuted in Cochise County.
But Zucco always had two advantages in dealing with a much shorter than usual campaign period.
First is name recognition from being one of Cochise County’s longtime prosecutors. The second is the fact Cochise County had roughly 15,000 more registered Republican voters than Democrats heading into Tuesday.
Assuming all those voters cast a ballot and do so along party lines, Eckstein would have to pull in close to 60 percent of the nearly 35,000 county voters who are registered without party affiliation or with a small party just to pull even with Zucco.
