Why did you completely ignore H.R.2 that was passed a year earlier and killed by the senate democrats and was far more of a border security bill than the rubbish put together by RINO langford and the democrats. No matter how many times you want to lie and say tbe border is trumps fault, history and facts smack you in the face on it
So I just read up into HR2.
Ok so on its merits it was a tough bill and it would have seriously slowed down illegal immigration. I get it. But based on what I read it was the affect on those seeking asylum.
So 1st things first I will explain my experiences with the USA Government. During Covid and even up until 2022, 2023 many government departments that worked face to face with people were all but running on skeleton staff and were appointment based only. Many appointments just to see someone were at least 12 months and thats even if the phone rings. You cant even enter the building without an appointment.
So based on what I read, this was one of the primary concerns. It was voted down and a different bill was created. Which is the one Trump killed.
To my understanding, the democrats wanted to be open for asylum seekers but totally underestimated on the amount of people who would seek to take advantage of that and it blew the system apart. No doubt they shit the bed and no one is denying that. The right bill though was the one in Feb that Trump killed that was viewed to have good processing terms for genuine asylum seekers. HR2 while good on the surface was brutally tough. I guess it depends on the goal. If you want to end anyone crossing the borders even to seek asylum HR2 was the one.
The USA has always been a haven for asylum seekers hence the sanctuary cities who were always willing to help. This only changed under Trump. I dont think its right for us foreigners to tell the USA how to handle their business when it comes to asylum issues. But obviously we can discuss which one fits in with the long term goals of accepting asylum seekers in a timely manner and dealing with illegals within those goals.
So now its your turn! Tell me about Trumps dismissal of the border bill.
