When he was elected the first time, Trump had the good sense to fill his cabinet with competent adults, who were properly qualified for the positions they were filling.

In his second administration, he's filling it with crazies, most of whom are completely unqualified. Indeed, the only qualifications they appear to require are a history involving sexual assaults (either committing themselves, or covering up the actions of others) and blind loyalty to Trump. Competence and experience related to their appointments appear to be completely irrelevant.

With a serious number of crazies & incompetents likely to be approved by a Republican Senate (even if Gaetz doesn't get through), it's going to be a wild ride starting in January.

So, the only reason you want them is they work for poverty wages. American don't know how to harvest food and serve food.

You don't want them to round up the criminals or illegals from countries that may cause harm to Americans?

They know how... they're just not prepared to do those menial jobs, particularly for the near-slave wages on offer.

With no workers willing to do the jobs, either the industries will collapse or they will have to offer better wages, resulting in price rises and increasing inflation.

Despite what the racists & Republicans might tell you, those illegal immigrants have a lower crime rate than the US population in general. Sure, there are a few bad eggs, but they make up a much lower percentage than they do in the wider population. Most are just there wanting a better quality of life than what is on offer in their crime-ridden countries of origin.

What is shocking is the footage of Israeli soccer fans being attacked was actually footage of Israeli Maccabi football club fans attacking people, and causing mayhem. In the footage that did the rounds on major news networks around the world it is clear as day that the people doing the attacking are wearing Maccabi colours. The person that filmed the footage actually came out and clarified that the footage was of Israeli Maccabi fans running riot.

The idea that there was poor innocent Israeli soccer fans attacked unprovoked in Amsterdam is a complete and utter fiction.

Americans (like Australians) aren't prepared to do the menial tasks. This is why farmers hire (and take advantage) of them (and backpackers). Trump was talking about sending Haitian LEGAL refugees back to Venezuela. Not sure how that's going to work but there you go. He's not that bright and possibly thought Haitians were from Venezuela. By the way, It is NOT ILLEGAL to seek asylum.

I wouldn't think so. There are too many laws and procedures and intelligent Republicans that will prevent it from being a shit show.

I'm now more intrigued than aghast at the possible changes.

Let's see if Trump can actuate all his proclamations like ending the Israel Hamas Hezbollah Russia/Ukraine conflicts for example, because the Biden admin couldn't end them, albeit the current conflicts are still reasonably young and although there is a Biden admin proposal at work, nothing's come of it as yet.

What he does at home with tariffs for example is none of our business. It will affect us down the road but does the US have to be obliged to protect other countries' economies before its own?

What he does with health, deportation of illegal immigrants, abortion laws etc in the US might be against a person's political and personal beliefs but the majority of Americans voted for this.

I personally think he's a hideous clown...and worse, but I blame the left for how far they were pushing their 'woke' ideals. The Republican candidate was always going win IMO regardless of the idiot they had as their candidate.

Republicans with more intelligence shake their heads at trump and his antics, but they have to tread carefully because the whims of Trump could see them suffer in some way.

Boys identifying as girls allowed to use female toilets, and compete in female sport, and use female change rooms? Teachers not allowed to address boys and girls as 'boys' and 'girls'?... yes those kind of ideals. Gender transition is a real thing, you can't just bury your head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist. As a woman I have absolutely NO qualms about going to the same loo as a transgender woman. I have no problem with our kids being made aware that there are other categories within the gender category. This is how you teach inclusivity and understanding. My son was always made to be aware of the differences. He was never shoved into a "boy blue, girl pink" hole. He was pointed into a wear whatever you like, play with whatever toys you like, never insisting that only boys do that and only girls do this. He had a pink dolls house and a toy kitchen that he loved playing in. He loved playing dress ups. He had a shopping trolley and a checkout. He's now 23 and a well balanced young man with a girlfriend and lots of friends from different cultures, different sexualities and yes, different genders. He is a passionate footy supporter (both AFL and EPL), loves musicals and theatre, is world travelled and a genuinely kind and generous person.
