This is so true for that Adelaide demographic, the well off retiree, the brown chord and tartan golf hat type, who'll plan a weekend that encompasses a Crows game, a musical and catching up for dinner with that lovely couple from Sandringham we met on that European river boat cruise in 2013.
Simmilar for the Eagles, except they're more upper-middle dad and son combos. The bad mid wash jean with white shoes and a '91 Eagles bomber jacket. Shocking.

I was at the Collingwood vs West Coast game, and anyone else who went, couldn't help but notice that, as is usual nowadays here, the sheer number of Eagles fans. I would estimate it myself at at least 30% judging from what I saw in the crowd, and the general noise they made. I was near the boundary line in one of the M-sections and in the general vicinity it seemed close to 50% Eagles fans. Overheard the bloke next to me saying 'seems to be more Eagles fans'.

While it was still a Collingwood home game with more Pies fans, I was quite struck by how much support the Eagles seem to get in Melbourne. It doesn't seem to translate quite as much on television, but you can still tell. The audible cheers when we're doing well, the boos of Collingwood players lining up etc.

I haven't seen many games involving interstate clubs and Melbourne clubs here. I remember an Adelaide game, but their presence didn't seem as large. I know there are many Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions supporters who used to go for South Melbourne and Fitzroy, but I don't know how their numbers stack us vs the Eagles. I don't think the Dockers or Port really stack up...as for the GC and GWS, should be fairly obvious. I did, however, see an old Asian man here in Footscray wearing a Giants jacket, dunno how much of a serious supporter he was. One of the few sightings lol.

I mean, there are a lot of interstate migrants from the West (I overheard the same WC fan say he is now living in Perth, which is the case for most Eagles supporters here), and WA is the second most populous of the AFL dominated states. I'd still imagine quite a few from SA. It definitely seems a lot more lop-sided compared to interstate supporters at matches at Subiaco, where it's at least 90% Eagles (or Dockers). I remember a prelim against Adelaide where I could count the number of visible Crows fans (wearing the gear) on one hand. And this was a major final.
Thats because you cant get a ticket to the games in perth. Ive been an interstate hawks member for 7 years and havent got a ticket to a game at subi once through the ballot.

Funny my friend and I were at the Windsor Hotel, and as we were passing a room glimpsed an Eagles scarf.

...cos you expect me to combine it all into one thread? Can't be arsed. I posted them all within a few minutes, not that I have to justify myself to you.

Cant be arsed pressing reply once on each post ? you don't even have to click on a multi quote button these days!

Collingwood play at the G every week and had nothing to play for. Eagles had top 4 to play for and a rare game at the G. I've seen plenty of Adelaide fans at the G', the final against the bulldogs for example. Swans always pull a crowd. I highly doubt you had more fans at the game, very highly doubt it.

LOL of course there will be more fans at a Finals game.

Noticed a very healthy amount of Eagles supporters at the Carlton game too.

No need to be salty that no one likes Freo still tbh

In my 9 years in Melbourne I think I've come across more Freo supporters than West Coast...
but that's just my experience. I lived with a Freo and West Coast fan in the same house

I actually saw a 3 year old kid wearing the original green Dockers 95 away jumper the other day...

the only time I've had a fair chance to get tickets to a wce/freamantle - hawthorn game at subi in the last few years was for last years qualifying and preliminary finals, when hawthorn members where allocated more tickets.

I'd say freo had more fans at the Grand Final than you guys did last year. I'd say Fremantle are more well liked than the pretenders who care more about winning than looking after players health.

LOL crazy, reckon I've legit come across 2 supporters since 1995.
