So PR and spin perhaps.

That's what you get whe you have a vested interest in the outcome, hey?

He recommended a whole range of odd supplements. Pigs brains, mothers first milk etc. can anyone find any scientific basis for the use of these substances in sport?

Anyway, science and research suggest AOD is a placebo at best. But it kept Dank in employment so he was happy

You do know how to do your own research don't you? Its fairly easy to look this information up in the peer reviewed literature.

Your second point is incorrect and misleading

I am very disappointed in you

I've already told you what those drugs are - the pigs brain (cerebrolysin) is prescribed for dementia patients or those with brain trauma. The colostrum - isn't from a human - it's from a cow who's just given birth. It is also recommended by WADA for athletes NOT to ingest it due to it having high levels of IGF-1 (a banned substance). Nobody appears to have worried about this little tid bit at all!

Essendon players haven't tested positive so obviously a high level of IGF-1 wasnt an issue, and as you've stated colostrum isn't specifically banned. Without looking it up I thought cerebrolysin was for the treatment of Parkinson's disease primarily.

No, it's showing promising signs for dementia and alzheimers patients. Colostrum isn't banned but WADA says they recommend athletes DON'T TAKE IT. So what does Essendon do?

I know it's been a long time but remember back to the beginning, when we were first introduced to AOD-9064. The head of the Aust. Co. manufacturing it said it seemed to be a failure, but then he started learning of a huge black-market for a Chinese version, and it was being bought by body-builders.

I can't believe that this happened if the drug wasn't producing results. It might have failed at what it was designed for, but it was sure improving something for the body-building fraternity. (Maybe that's how Charters learned of it)

I'm not sure what lawyers you've ever met but lawyers are extremely pessimistic - not optimistic.

They will always talk a case down so they look like geniuses if they do end up winning it. And if they lose it, then it was mission impossible anyway.

Hence why the positive vibes coming from Essendon are extremely comforting.
Lol yeah you're right. It's not like lawyers wanna take on any new business or anything.

But by all means, you can keep on taking comfort from little nothings :D

You are new here, to have expectations of better.

Doped up with a placebo ;)
Your smug looking avatar could almost be a poster child, but somehow I keep seeing the ashen faced version that was in the original press conference.
It is quiet obvious that Essendon have no moral scruples about using performance enhancing drugs if they can get away with it. Ie : ignore recommendations. Look for loopholes in the legislation etc etc.
Its not tax laws here, we are talking about the health of players.
Rumours suggest that the club sanctioned injections of materials sourced from dodgy chinese suppliers, that hadn't been trialed in injection form , into your players. Potential risk??? pah who cares if you get a shot at the flag and we get to look smug.
