Honest question, do those alititude masks work? I’ve read a lot of conflicting info
no idea, I watched a guy warm up on the rower with one on, take it off and keep going

can't think 5 minutes here or there makes much difference, people don't altitude train for 5 minutes at a time

I am a CEO and i have time, but then i dont have time at times if that makes sense.

bolded bit. Yes, if you work for the man, and you wanna have 2-3 hours of exercise a week, quit your job and you have all the time in the world ;)

Your first sentence is absolutely spot on. We are all different and have diff priorities each day.

For sure. And certainly there are days where it's physically impossible to anything but the absolute essentials (EG move work eat see family before collapsing). But hopefully not the norm for a lot of people.

This covers it pretty well.

Even if they did work, the idea of training at altitude is starting to go out of fashion now because your ability to train is significantly reduced until the physiological adaptations start to kick in, which takes weeks. It's all about 'live high, train low' now so you get the best of both worlds - physiological adaptations plus the ability to train at the desired intensity.

I think gyming is kinda a luxury to a small degree. We love working out, is it life/death? In some cases yes, for health reasons.
But its in some ways addictive. I mean right now im sitting here typing and posting but thinking about being in the gym, even just stretching. The noise, ambience, smell. Love it!

Not the gym itself, but I’d say exercise is up there with eating and sleeping as a non-negotiable for good health.

I think you are right. We and everyone knows that, but its something that I guess is put in the too hard basket.

Kids and gym - all about priority.

When I had my first, was massively sleep deprived. Was lucky to get 4 hours a night and was very much in the "just too damn tired and busy to exercise" until I decided to get a personal trainer for 2 days a week for early morning sessions. It was damn hard, but having booked in appointments (that I would have to pay for if I didn't turn up) meant I had a baseline level of exercise that I committed to.

I now work about a 60 hour week, plus my volunteer stuff, but get up early and have it all done by 7 am. Spend heaps of time with my kids. I only work at home when they're in bed, and only exercise before they get up. It means I'm never actually choosing between kids/exercise or kids/work.

It's a hell of a thing to juggle though. I'm really big on making sure I'm not just 'support staff' for my wife, but actually doing the heavy lifting and planning and everything else at home and with the kids.

I go at 4AM and have done for ten years - tend to only make it three times a week. I have got to the stage now that I can't share equipment. Any other time will lead to a conflict

Have picked up body lice over the last week or so. Considering I am very fastidious, to the point of OCD in personal hygiene and cleaning my home, I've decided I've got it from the gym, so have sent a very blunt email to the owner of my gym.

How could they stop the liceys from getting in?

Look, the gym may or may not be in the wrong but making an assumption without proof and writing blunt emails is a tad thoughtless.

Sure, write an email; bring it to their attention. Don't fly off handles.

I didn't fly off the handle. I just sent an email expressing my concern with the cleaning and hygiene standards of the gym and requesting more thorough cleaning practices. It wasn't aggressive in any way.
