I think even the deadlifts depends on the gym.

If you’re at a zap or anytime or whatever nah.
I go to a Zap. Lots of rubber flooring there so it's not so bad with deads hitting the ground, especially as not many people do them heavy there.
I probably see as many rack pulls as I see deadlifts there.

Yeh that’s sort of the point. Don’t be doing big dead drops in THAT sort of gym with a real mix of clientele (many of whom may not feel really comfortable with people aggressively throwing weights down/around).

If you wanna do that shit go to a Dohertys or old school iron paradise etc.

Dude in his 50s yesterday supersetting on 3 different machines just up and leaves without putting any weights away or wiping anything down.

Complete rudeness aside you look like a stick insect, do you maybe the way you workout is ****in stupid and not really working?

There is one particular woman at my gym that constantly has blokes over trying to give advice, ask random questions, comment on form, technique etc etc.

And you can tell she doesn't know these blokes
She should (shouldnt have to tho) wear headphones.

I once had a dropkick make me stop listening to my headphones on the walk on the way back from the G once. I almost tore him a new one. You do not interrupt anyone wearing headphones unless its life or death.

She wears those over ear headphones, so its clearly don't bother me, but it doesn't stop a mid 50s bloke from trying it on.

Funny that in the last 5 years, i have had a total of 0 people speak to me at the gym. Interesting that eh!

A very very cute guy put the fan on, so I said thanks, and he smiled at me.

Best day ever. :tearsofjoy:

What sort drop complete kick would do that.

Got a guy at my gym that does my head in. It’s a pretty small gym so usually 4 people max are there, this guy who is estimate to be 50 or so works his mouth muscles more than any other in his body. The dude will finish a set and literally walk circles at the gym attempting to talk to anyone that will look in his direction. Im all for a hello or how’s it going but he is so clearly putting people off their workouts and routines. I train with AirPods in so I just ignore him now, used to give him a head nod but would attempt to talk for an hour, but you can tell some people are too nice and just can’t not indulge him for hours.

I genuinely believe there are some very lonely people out there and the gym is one form of social outlet for them.

It blows my mind when people get in early to the gym at 5am, sacrificing sleep to chat to someone.

I think every gym always has a few people that are more than happy to have random chats for 5-10mins as it means less time working out.

Over a course of a week, that literally ends up becoming one workout spent talking the entire time. :drunk:

My hot take is that most people that train at the gym genuinely dont know what they are doing to progress beyond newbie gains.
