Is Buckley A Good Coach?

The senior coach is an important club figure and a legitimate topic of discussion. It's fair to do so and everyone has a right to express their view.

The mod team observed that the thread was dominated by a few protagonists and their points were repeated i.e. 8 years of regression vs marked improvement in 17,18 etc Pretty much everyone with a strong opinion has already expressed it here.

What further degraded discussion was the simplistic "sack FIGJAM" or "he's a legend" type posts.

This thread will remain open. If your view has slightly shifted or you have new thoughts please share. In an effort to encourage quality discussion repetitive statements and circular arguments will from now on be deleted as will silly posts suggesting that we sack a coach on match-day.

i think a lot of them are overpaid... i think that collingwood does that.... i dont know why i say that. I haven't got any evidence but I just think the browns would be overpaid, nathan murphy and most of the players who have been there for a few years. i would be paying a lot of them bargaining agreement salaries, and if they want to look elsewhere, feel free...

treloar wasnt the only one who was overpaid...and if you believe the story about phillips, what were they thinking?

you would think that with the players that were traded or dropped off the list last year, the club would have to give some players bonuses to get the cap up to 95%.... but it doesnt seem that way.

As intimate as it needs to be to lure him into the club. Having said that, some individuals in the club, I speculate, have built careers around compromising photos.

Hold on here - let's get this right-- are you somehow suggesting that the head coach should be held accountable for the team's performance?

You're getting a bit radical here- surely the assistant s (those paid less) should be held responsible for team performance?

Nathan is accountable for the main things - diversity, social justice, equity etc..

Apparently he hasn't done anything wrong.. the club's been all drama since day dot re.

I walked away from Wright’s radio interview tonight thinking we are about a 90% chance of a new coach in 2022

I'd go in to 4 mths worth of locldown again to bump it up to 100%.

there can be a difference between being accountable and actually making the error.... people in charge are normally accountable for the errors of the people that they appoint, although that happens less these days.
