Had an overnight stay in Adelaide back in 2005, on my way up to Roxby Downs (another quality SA shit-hole)
So I thought I'd go to the pub and and sample some of the states amber. I asked for a pint and was handed a schooner, which I was told is a pint in Adelaide, after 1 mouthful of that goats-piss mouthwash, and also listening to 100% hits 1992 on the jukebox, I handed back my "pint" and proceeded to the nearest bottleshop to purchase a carton and head back to my room.. Lucky I did, they just had the newest episode of A Country Practice on.. Gee I was sad that night when Molly died.

In my time in Melbourne a few years ago, as I ploughed my through a bevvy of women, the ability to hide a few extra kilos was a developed technique and often lead to awkward moments where I would kindly ask the heifer to leave.

Anything over 55kg is not acceptable.

That's the best feature of Perth, the quality control the beaches bring.

Heh, OP, going by the name of James Brayshaw, I presume you realize you're from Perth??

Spent NYE with Sticks Brayshaw there a few years back. He'd brought the Missus and his boys back home for a holiday.

I lived in Perth for almost three years...great place. Kinda wish I hadn't moved back to Melbourne, sometimes.

I have never been to Perth but I have heard nothing but good things about it so I would love to go there one day. But to suggest that WA's mining industry subsidises the rest of the nation is a bit niave, even if the comment itself was more of a tongue in cheek figure of speech type thing.

Queensland has a huge mining industry and both NSW and SA are getting up there as well. I'd love for SA's mining industry to one day rival WA as the flow on effects would do wonders for the state and the city of Adelaide. But one thing money from big dirt pits will never be able to change, is that the best reds come from SA!
