Is it just me or is the NRL boring!!!!!

nrl is very boring. I only watch the Origin series and the GF, can't stand the regular games.

For all the people that bag Channel 10's coverage of the afl finals, lucky we haven't got Channel 9. Only covered the gf 2 hours in Melbourne, then did not show the victory medals because had to go to a lame Steven Segal movie. Just pathetic and poor form.

it seems boring, i heard the NRL left 7000 seats yes seven thousand for the supporters of the two competing teams

on 2GB on relay to SEN, they were saying that the pre match entertainment was crap basically

Absolute garbage. If that was the case, how come everybody was decked out in Tigers or Cowboys gear???

Not garbage at all, NRL Grand Final tickets go on sale around July and yes only 3000 tickets are held on to for each team.

Super league... that the league where their grand final is held at Manchester United's Old Trafford and they don't sell all the tickets?
Both the super league final and the challenge cup finals are sell-outs... the challenge cup final was played at a sell-out Cardiff Stadium recently.

Fair enough if you guys didn't like the game last night or don't like Rugby League... But i have to say, the first half last night was bloody brilliant! The second half the Cowboys tried to score of every play when all they needed to do was try and get a few repeat sets (They panicked but will be better for it)...
The AFL GF from all reports was one of the worst games... The closeness was the only thing that kept it interesting... So don't bag out RL if you didn't watch the game last night and if you did, get the bias out of your head.
Rugby League the greatest game of all...

Believe it or not, I thought it was a good game of RL. I know thats not the question.

The Tigers play a tradition RL style, using modern techniques, quick dummy half and forward play, getting the defence moving backwards and no time to settle, then once the defence has been drawn into the ruck, spin it wide and exploit the gaps in the centres and wings.

Like it or not, that is the way ythr game is played. The Tigers played it to perfection.

I have chronicled my distaste with the way the game has become Americanised, Sunday Night GF's (like NFL) Championship rings (Like NFL), 5 playes and a punt (NRL 3 plays and a punt) half time entertainment (like NRL much much crappier) pouring gatorade over the coach (like NRL) no draws (like NRL) etc etc etc.

It is a poor mans NRL without the glitz or glamour. Better game than American Football, though a vastly inferior to Australia's very own, AFL.

Forget NFL.... that's a game for crash test dummies

There already is an IRL and very soon there will be an Australian representative side playing England, New Zealand etc...... unlike AFL where we play Ireland using a round ball and soccer goal nets.

About time the AFL had a side based in the Australian Capital Territory..... when will the Kangaroos finally get punted there?

A few years ago when Penrith played Sydney in the Grand Final, that was a good game. It was probably the toughest sport spectacle I've ever seen. Unfortunately every Grand Final since then has been a big let-down. Infact, last night I only watched the first half. That was the 1st time in many years that I couldn't be bothered watching the Grand Final.

Rugby League, for me, it just needs a lot of things to go perfectly for it to be interesting.

Australian Reps = NSW and QLD
England Reps = Yorkshire and Lancashire
NZ Reps = players not good enough to play Union

Who are you kidding? Two states in Oz, a couple of counties in England, and a couple of rejects in NZ. Wow you sure got us beat

Do you still play the all conquering French in RL?

Didn't answer the question. How can RL be called NRL when it is not represented in WA or SA and has a team from another country playing in it?

Poor mans NFL.

Same as AFL with me... I don't like watching players fumbling and getting rewarded for missing, and players who can't tackle get praised for the worst tackle you can ever see... It just doesn't do it for me.

Take the blinkers off Joffa old boy

The AFL ought to be called the non-VFL competition. How many years have Qld, SA, WA and now NSW been dominating?

Surely it is time the VFL was reformed. The Vic sides should play each other twice until a final 4 was determined...... to compete against the interstate sides for the balance of the season.

VFL still exists.

And that format was done early last century and the competition between the intertstate comps was done in the late 1800's too.
South Melbourne won that a few times too! yay.

Rugby League is a simple game for simple people that cannot understand or comprehend the complicated game of Aussie Rules, they just don’t have the educated brains for it. In league it is pretty basic, run with the ball, always pass it backwards and touch the ball down when you cross the try line, not much more to it than that. Due to NSW lesser brain capacity it is easy to understand why they accept this footy code, but the smarter ones who eventually realise the complex, skilful and exciting game of AFL ultimately switch codes. The fact is AFL is growing in Qld and NSW, and growing nicely thank you. The same can’t be said for League in Victoria, SA, WA & Tassie. When you make an effort to understand a superior game (AFL) instead of giving in to your brains lack of smarts and accepting mediocrity (Rugby League), you to (the league supporter) can enjoy the footy code that is second to none in skills, explosive pace, champagne displays and heart ripping excitement.

Cheers :)
