Speaking from the opinion of someone who has actually seen Watts play, he has an incredible football brain and has natural born talent.

Oh and considering Nat is such an athlete, he did pretty crap at draft camp. Wow he can jump as high as Brennan, can't wait, he just might take the league by storm with that attribute. Considering all he had going for him was the athlete tag, beaten in 20 metre, agility, and speed test. All he does is jump and he doesn't have the football brain. Will be a good player but Watts is easily the best, only Rich deserves to be mentioned in the same league.

I was happy with either Naitanui or Rich. At the time Melbourne were still deciding between Naitanui and Watts. Its been a year and i can't remember my exact thinking but in all honestly i probably thought Naitanui would be taken by Melbourne and in that case i would have definately wanted Rich.

One year later i'm very happy with the way things have turned out. Rich will be a star but i have faith in our young midfield and Naitanui has shown he will be gun. As one melbourne poster recently said, "Naitanui will be a law unto himself - he will be that good".

As for Watts.. yeah.. well.. you know.

I am on record as saying i wanted either Rich or Naitanui. I'm sure at some point i would have picked Rich over Naitanui as the above post would suggest. I would have strongly supported either player who was picked.

Hey Pav, here is what yet another one of your flog aliases had to say about drafting Hill over Rich.

Whats all the fuss over Hill, I cant believe he's being mentioned as a top 3 pick, let alone a 1st round pick.

Quite simply, he's not that good. His kicking is hit an miss, he panics under pressure and will have trouble putting weight on. He's a role player, you dont waste 1st round picks on blokes who will become a back flanker or tagger.

As already pointed out i said i didn't remember the exact reason.

I have no qualms admitting i liked the look of Rich and would have loved him at WCE. If you look back at posts from that time i'm also on record as saying i'd love Naitanui at the club.

As pointed out above i strongly supported the decision to draft either player and given whats happend to date i'm very happy with our decision to take Naitanui. Both Naitanui and Rich will be stars. Everyone except the MFB knows it.

The only player from last years draft who could possibly be the next McDUD (McDougall) is Naitanui and isn't it just a tad ironic that some of those responsible for wasting pick 5 on McDUD are the same ones who picked Naitanui. Some people just never learn.
