Is Nat Fyfe in trouble for this incident?

I dont think "a week for that...really" is the right response.

It should be "a week for that and Tom Mitchell gets off doing the same thing 100m behind the ball...really?"
Exactly. The precedent set with Mitchell's case - high contact, intentional, low force = FINE, gets Fyfe a fine only. The VFL however, does not seek natural justice as you would expect in the legal system. The match review panel is a law unto itself.

Easy way to fix it - you hit a player off the ball, you get a week even if it was with force that would have failed to hit the skin off a custard.

The problem is the tribunal does take into account the force of the contact.

I reckon Mitchell was lucky to get off but at the same time, there was a big difference in the force of both incidents.

Thats the thing now they're focussed more on the force than the action itself.
There should be equal weight given. Fyfe's was a split second in the play decision that he was late and high. Mitchells was calculated and completely intentional.

I agree. FWIW I reckon both deserved a week.

No it was. Should have gone for Kneeing Carlisle.

Here you go mate, I've edited it for you:

Freo Fans: Nothing in it. A fine at most. Dreading the thought of having to watch this team for possibly 2 weeks without the only watchable element.
Eagles Fans: Guilty. Should be given 4 weeks because Fremantle. Plus he is a sniper who does this stuff every week and gets away with it but the AFL always gets him off cause of the Brownlow (conveniently forgetting 2014 of course). Collingwood fans didn't boo loudly enough.
Collingwood Fans: Guilty. Was only low impact because Collingwood players are all so tough. Any player from another team would have probably been killed instantly and Fyfe would be charged with Manslaugter.
Richmond Fans: Guilty - and don't you dare compare it to the Cotchin/Shiel incident - totally different. Shiel should have had a free paid against him for incorrect disposal. Of course if it was Buddy he would get off because, you know, the AFL totally favours Sydney teams (except GWS) and Buddy is a protected species. Having Fyfe out of the way making it easier for Martin to win Brownlow totally irrelevant.
Hawthorn Fans: Guilty - and don't you dare compare it to the Mitchell incident - totally different. Nothing to do with improving Mitchell's chances for the Brownlow
St Kilda Fans: This proves that Lyon is a crap coach plus he should've got 5 weeks for deliberately kneeing Carlisle in the head - which was probably Ross Lyon's fault as well.
Ross Lyon:
didn't see it, wasn't watching, cant comment (possibly flossing?)
Nathan Buckley: as above (minus the flossing)
Adelaide fans: Guilty, but should only get exactly one week. nothing more, nothing less.
Perth talkback radio: post weekend meltdown only second to a weekend when someone gets bitten by a shark. Perth has 897,124 experts on bio mechanics and the laws of the game compared to 1,136,211 experts on Sharks and marine biology
Everyone else: 50/50 split and reasoned debate on the definition of 'careless' and 'intentional'
