Considering Port didn't even finish bottom..
Didn't even win the spoon that year 😂
Gold Coast were in their inaugural season with a team of kids. Port were lucky to avoid the spoon the same way Melbourne were lucky to avoid the spoon in 2012 and 2013.

Port were so bad in 2011 it's remarkable how quickly they turned things around once Koch and Ken arrived. From Fitzroy 1996 levels in 2011 to missing out on a grand final by a kick in 2014 against a Hawthorn team that were in the middle of a dynasty.

I'm not sure the argument you're trying to make. If we didn't even win the spoon that year, how could we be the worst?

Umm no. We are Fitzroy in it's last year bad. 2011 Port was more regular bottom 4 bad.
Hopefully West Coast can turn it around in the next 3 years, remembering how quickly Port turned it around.
That, along with the fact West Coast simply have too many resources to not turn it around relatively quickly.

Incredibly we may have been even worse the following year losing to GWS by 6 goals in their first season. However the following year we won a final (CWD at the G) then lost by a goal to Geelong the following week. So when it turns, it can turn quick.

Didn’t help that when we hit our rock bottom and were getting pumped most weeks that that coincided with the compromised drafts with both GC and GWS entering.

Instead of getting a couple of picks between 1-3, we were pushed back a couple in consecutive years.

If we can rebound with absolutely no assistance and during a compromised period, other clubs can and is a reason neither WC or North should be getting priority picks.

Well according to the Chairman we are backing Simmo to do it so I guess we just settle in for some seriously rough times before Premiership no. 5.

Koch and Ken did an amazing job in turning Port around after they arrived at Alberton.

However, you can't help but wonder if Port being pushed back in the draft order with the compromised drafts has been the difference between preliminary finals and a premiership.

Melbourne picked the eyes out of the draft once the compromised drafts were done and won a flag.

Koch and Ken? Pfft, the players were already there. Primus took the pain and our previous President and CEO took a bullet each to get us out from the SANFL and Footy Park
