Slightly conspiracy theory. But hear me out.

We need a log of Gillon's dealings with the Government.

We know the following.

1. Gil and Hamish Uncle is Ian McLachlan. Ex Howard Government Minister.
2. During 2013 Essendon. Gillon was AFL staffer to negotiate with Richard Eccles and Govt. 'The Optics need to be preserved' I think was the quote.
3. Gillon/Dutton Au Pair matter. Gill staffer calling Dutton office on a Sunday to get pretty French girl in country.
4. Gill Senate Inquiry 5-9-2018/ Gill reveals he asked Dutton to let Argentine Polo Player into AU's. Che?
5. Dustin Martin Dad locked in NZ. Dutton had strict Policy. Has Gill interfered, good or bad in Martin case, to preserve AFL image?
6/ John Wylie wife (Miriam) is French Consulate-Generale to Victoria. The Wylie's got Hird to France in 2014.

Something is up. We will hear more about this?

Discuss.

Is it a crime for Gil to ask for a favour?
The au pair looks pretty experienced and the type of person we want in this country. We should focus on streamlining immigration for French au pairs, in my considered judgment.
Agree that the Qualify of Product that Gil was protecting is of good breed.

The more I think about her work, the more I suspect she is the in house after hours shag for the McLachlan Clan.

The question for Gil is why he’s using AFL resources, and spending capital the AFL has with government, on getting personal favours done.

It’s major stuff, getting a favour out of a federal government minister isn’t like taking a company pen or a calculator home - favours beget favours, somebody is paying for this. He doesn’t own the game, it’s not his to use.

Not to mention, as CEO, potentially putting pressure on his AFL employees to help him in on personal matters. It’s a conflict of interest and unprofessional for them, but what can you do when the CEO tells you to do something.

It’s all a little bit abuse-of-position.

In a normal environment he’d definitely be hauled before the board and asked to explain himself.

Footy is the people’s game, but is being run by someone who has easy access to immigration ministers, French au pairs and Argentinian polo players. Bodes well.

1 out of 3 is pretty poor, I agree. Now if Argentinian Polo player was replaced with Argentinian Beef, that would be an improvement.

He did have to front the commission about it. Doubt they looked at closely through, they would be the last people who would want scrutiny on the subject.

Govt has AFL's best interests, it keeps people busy/distracted.

If govt was going to punish the AFL it would have been done during the asada saga.

People saying Gil is worse than Andy D is absurd, CEO status is a salesman selling the game to the public, they're just a figurehead for the boys above them. Just when shit starts to stink they swap them out and scapegoat them people faith back into the public.

Not much different from Prime Minister's.
