Kennett may have publicly supported it, but does that really surprise you?
It's Jeff Kennett. He did his level best to privatize most of the state when he was running things. I never voted for the man, nor did I support him becoming president for that matter.
But there can be absolutely no doubt that his tenure at Hawthorn has been a prosperous and successful time for the club. His high profile alone has done much to get Hawthorn noticed by Victorians who've responded by boosting our membership numbers to a level your pitiful club can only dream of.

Indeed shepp23. They certainly haven't attempted to name one so far. (probably knowing full-well they'd be laughed at if they tried!)

This of course leads us to the question of how their club expects to survive when clearly their supporters have so little to look forward to. I'm surprised they even managed to acquire a major sponsor to tell you the truth, but perhaps the AFL 'arranged' it for them to shield the club from further embarassment.
